Pundit speculates that Arsenal, Tottenham are keen on Brentford ace for a summer move

By Eddie Razo -

This summer, Tottenham Hotspur will be in the market for a creative midfielder to assist in helping create scoring chances to help lessen the responsibility on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

Dejan Kulusevski was brought in to help in this front and has adapted to the Premier League, but the north London club wants that no. 10 to help them, and talkSPORT reports Spurs are looking to reunite with a former player to fill that role.

“I think he [Eriksen] would step aside [at Brentford] if he could return back to a Spurs, or an Arsenal, somebody of that ilk,” pundit Simon Jordan said.

“Maybe he deserves that opportunity… Maybe the player might decide with all that love and support I’ve got here [at Brentford] I’m going to stay at Brentford.”

The English media outlet states that Tottenham, along with their north London rival Arsenal, is eyeing Christian Eriksen, whose contract expires with Brentford in June.

After dealing with a cardiac arrest last summer, Eriksen had to leave Inter Milan when Serie A didn’t allow him to play due to the implemented device. As a result, the 30-year-old signed with Brentford on a six-month deal.

Eriksen has since shown he can still play at a high level at Brentford, which has resulted in some of the top six clubs taking an interest in the midfielder.

We don’t buy obvious targets as it means Levy has to spend real money. So rather than spending £30m on Watkins for example we bring in Vinicious on loan. As everyone predicted the lad flopped. What is the point? Everything Levy does is cheapskate business designed to save money at the expense of our success which is non existent. We’re even struggling to get top 4 with Man U plummeting. All this and our fans have to pay the highest ticket prices in the country to watch Daniel’s Donkeys play.
How on earth did we not go for WB’s like Cuceralla or Castagne instead of the Championship quality WB’s we have? Because Levy will never sanction the purchase of prime targets but prefers to go off radar and buy other clubs deadwood cheaply, or expensively in the case of Royal.
Paratici will save us I hear the cries; well it was he who recommended Nuno and bought Royal and Gollini, both players who should be in the Championship.
Lets hope Conte can impress on Levy and co that we need quality, also that top 4 is not a trophy in which you hire a double-decker bus and drive around London in a sea of white.
