Proven Premier League ace on Tottenham radar as the club looks to solve striker problem

By Bruce Grove -

Football London reports that Tottenham has been linked with a move for former Liverpool striker, Danny Ings.

The Englishman has become one of the hottest properties in English football in recent seasons.

He scored 22 Premier League goals for Southampton last season and his form earned him a recall to the England national team.

The report claims that the Lilywhites have had a long-standing interest in him.

Spurs are looking to land a striker on a loan-to-buy arrangement which makes it hard for them to sign one this summer because teams will want money for their players.

The club is also struggling to attract top strikers because a new striker will know that Harry Kane will be the club’s first choice and they will have to accept a backup role at the club.

Ings has emerged as one of the proven goal scorers in the Premier League since he left Liverpool to join the Saints.

Adding him to the current Tottenham team will make the team better, but he will feel that he is too good to play a backup role at this stage of his career.

Arkadiusz Milik is another top target for Spurs in this window, it remains to be seen if he will join given the conditions.

“linked” you say
well I gave up at player #51 we have been linked with, so my guess would be #55-60 now

although with no credit to Levy I see some early names are being regurgitated.

Oh God this is so difficult for a statto to keep up with

Ings is good enough. I agree Deeney isn’t though.

Southampton will obviously jump at the chance to rid themselves of a striker who could only score 22 Premier League goals for a loan fee which should help in finding a player to replace those 22 goals and if we don’t fancy him or he’s injured Southampton can have him back, on the other hand if we want to keep him there’ll have to be a huge discount on that loan to buy price.

The only way this would happen as I suggested earlier is if Levy has sanctioned the sale of Kane. With no crowds he would then avoid the brunt of the abuse that would come his way.It would not involve a loan.

These transfer links are getting funnier. As if the Saints would sell thier top scorer this late in the window to that pillock.
