Harry Kane’s form with Tottenham Hotspur to kick off the 2021-22 Premier League season hasn’t started on the right foot as the 28-year-old has struggled to display the quality that many expect from the 28-year-old.
In four appearances for Tottenham, Kane has zero goals and zero assists thus far. Furthermore, the striker is averaging one shot per game through these early matches. So it comes as no surprise that Kane’s struggles have seen the north London-based club struggle to score goals.
Tottenham’s last two Premier League fixtures have resulted in Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad losing 3-0 on back-to-back occasions against Crystal Palace and Chelsea.
Despite the sluggish start, Andy Townsend appeared on talkSPORT defending Kane’s form. Townsend stated that it’s difficult to put the summer transfer saga that connected him to a move to Manchester City behind them.
“Not long ago, Harry Kane probably thought he was going,” Kane said. “He doesn’t look sharp. He looks like he’s still suffering from the fact that his move [to Man City] didn’t happen.”
It will be interesting to see whether Kane finds his form in the north London derby against Arsenal.
