Probable Fire Sale At Premier League Strugglers Creates 4 Interesting Options For Spurs [opinion]

I appreciate the possible distaste in talking about contagion during a global pandemic, but Bournemouth caught a dose of the Tottenhams’ this season.

Eddie Howe’s squad had become a bit stale, reliant on the same faces and The Sun understands that the Cherries are planning a shake-up in response.

According to The Sun, strikers, Callum Wilson and Josh King could be up for sale to generate some cash for Howe to reinvest on the new blood required.

Both Wilson and King present attractive options as cover for Harry Kane, especially the latter who is able to play out wide but remains a natural through the middle, rather than a Son Heung-min who is the opposite.

And if Bournemouth are looking to make a quick buck, I’d fancy Nathan Ake as Jan Vertonghen’s heir, and David Brooks as an Erik Lamela upgrade.

Brooks may have been hot property last summer had it not been for an ankle injury that curtailed his seven-goal debut Premier League season. The Sun reports we were keen back then and might be in for him again.

Ake is likely to have several suitors but Bournemouth might want to hang on to him as The Sun does not list him as one of the players who could be sold.

David Brooks should have been bought before B’Mouth stole him, now we’ll pay four or five times more, but I’d take him still and Ake.

King and Wilson in late twenties and won’t be that cheap, so Levy says no. I’d take Brooks if fit. Ake probably too expensive.

David Brooks is a player I know a lot about. Poor lad has had a nightmare injury which has affected Bournemouth too. He is a very good prospect. He has feet like Dynamo has hands. Ake is another I would take. Very surprised Chelsea didn’t take up the January option.
