“pressure is on Conte” – Tottenham star makes interesting comments about the Italian’s future after recent results

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur’s assistant manager, Cristian Stellini, has been on an impressive run of form, winning all four games in charge during Antonio Conte’s absence.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, as even Tottenham striker Richarlison has jokingly suggested that the “pressure is on Conte” now.

Stellini has maintained a perfect record, securing victories over some of the biggest names in football such as Chelsea, Marseille, and Manchester City. In contrast, Tottenham has lost two games when Conte took charge after his return from emergency surgery, prompting Richarlison to joke about Conte’s job being in danger.

He told ESPN Brazil (quotes via Goal):

“I think Cristian in charge of the team has worked out, now the pressure is on Conte. Let’s wait for him to come back. But all the work… Professor Conte tells Cristian to give us the work.

We will continue like this [for now], we are at a very good pace with two Premier League wins in a row. It’s important to keep it that way.”0

Despite the lighthearted nature of Richarlison’s comments, it is clear that Stellini’s success has caught the attention of football experts. Stan Collymore has claimed that the Italian could be an attractive prospect for clubs in the Championship or other European leagues.

This statement is a testament to Stellini’s ability to lead Tottenham to success in Conte’s absence. The fact that he has been able to win against some of the biggest names in football with such ease has highlighted his tactical knowledge and man-management skills.

Stellini’s success may have put him on the radar of other clubs, but Tottenham will be keen to hold onto their assistant manager. Conte is expected to return to North London soon, and he will be eager to take charge of his team as soon as possible.
