Bernardo Silva has been linked with a move to Tottenham but the Portuguese midfielder has no intention in playing for the Lilywhites, according to The Athletic.
Manchester City is keen to sign Harry Kane and as a sweetener in their first offer for the England captain, they included Silva.
Tottenham turned down the bid and they could add more money and return with the same player.
City have already told Silva that he can leave the club this summer if they receive an offer worth considering.
The midfielder would be a good addition to the Tottenham squad. However, he has said he has no interest in moving to London.
He instead wants to play in Spain next and the report says his agent has been in talks with the Premier League champions to find a suitable solution to the current problem.
Tottenham remains determined to keep hold of Kane, but the striker is just as keen on leaving.
Spurs will sell him if City makes an offer that they cannot refuse and it seems that they also favour a cash-only deal.
It is going to be a long 12 days before the transfer window shuts and it would be no surprise if something was to happen at the very last minute.
