Premier League ace wants a move to Tottenham or Arsenal claims pundit

By Bruce Grove -

Kevin Phillips reckons that his former teammate, Wilfried Zaha will hold out for a move to Tottenham or Arsenal this summer even though he might also get the chance to join Everton.

Zaha has been one of the Premier League’s best attackers for a long time and every summer, his future comes into question.

He has been at Palace since he returned from an ill-fated spell at Manchester United, but he is more mature now and he will feel that he needs to challenge himself at a top side again.

He was a subject of interest from Arsenal last summer, but the Gunners couldn’t pull it off and they will have to battle Tottenham for his signature now.

Philips was speaking to Football Insider and he admitted that Zaha will make Everton a better side, but his love for London will see him wait on Tottenham and Arsenal.

Asked by Football Insider whether the Ivory Coast international would improve Everton, Phillips said: “He could do the job at most clubs.

“Having played with him and knowing him, leaving for Manchester United was probably too soon but now he’s developed and he’s got a lot of Premier League experience under his belt.

“He’s showed that he’s become a consistent performer and his end product has got a lot better.

“It looks like Everton are a team that really want to push on and secure those European positions next season and if they secure the types of Zaha that’s certainly going to help you.

“Personally I think he thinks he could probably go to Arsenal or Tottenham and it wouldn’t surprise me if he was holding out for that because I know he loves London.

“I would imagine he’d rather go there than Everton but if he were to go to Everton he would improve them.”

Well, the only way Tottenham will make a move for Zaha is if his fee is affordable and as things stand right now, that is not the case. Also, do Spurs really need another winger when there are areas in the team that need more urgent attention?

He’s a quality player but unless we’re playing 1-8-1 he won’t get a game

You don’t want zaha running at ya. I remember couple seasons ago I said I’d swap him for eriksen. People thought I was nuts. Should be at a big club. I’d have him all day long

He’s a coupon buster – has a reputation for scoring loads of goals…but actually hardly does anymore.

No Thanks to Zaha and condolences to Klinsman, whom Grove reports is wandering around spouting inanities. A bit young to be losing it don’t you think. Maybe too many head knocks.
