Postecoglou pushing to sign £20m-rated attacker, Spurs leading chase for Newcastle target

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior in recent weeks.

Apparently, Newcastle United are keen on signing the English winger as well. But Tottenham are currently the front-runners to secure his services. A report from Football Insider claims that Spurs are in pole position to sign the player. Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is now pushing to sign the £20 million-rated attacker.

It is no secret that Tottenham will need to sign quality attackers during the January transfer window. Players like Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic are currently sidelined with injuries. Tottenham need to bring in more depth in the wide areas and Samuel Iling-Junior will add pace, flair and creativity from the flanks.

He has struggled for regular game time at the Italian club and moving to the Premier League could be an exciting opportunity for him. He will look to showcase his qualities on a more regular basis at Tottenham and establish himself as a starter for them.

Newcastle could use a quality winger after the departure of Allan Saint-Maximin as well and the 20-year-old would have been a superb long-term addition for them.

There is no doubt that the 20-year-old is a prodigious talent with a big future ahead of him and a move to the Premier League could accelerate his development. He has all the attributes to develop into a key player for Tottenham with the right guidance and coaching.

Spurs will be hoping to secure Champions League qualification this season they need to bring in the right additions in January in order to finish the season strongly. Iling-Junior could prove to be a solid, long-term acquisition for them and it remains to be seen whether the North London club can get the deal across the line.
