Possible good news for Tottenham fans this morning.
Valencia were also interested, but it was Lyon that managed to get the deal over the line for attacking midfielder Jean Lucas from Flamingo (via Santos where the player has been on loan).
The Harry Hotspur blog caught wind of this potential move yesterday, a move that’s just been confirmed in Portugal.
Recently we read quotes from the Lyon President Aulas, who told the French press that a key indicator in any deal for Tanguy beginning to take shape if a good box-to-box midfield youngster arriving at his club.
The transaction was completed at around the €8 million mark, which is again in keeping with Lyon having paid roughly the same amount for Tanguy NDombele.
Should this supposition, that Lucas has been brought in to cover an exiting NDombele, then with a following wind, we should see some welcome movement from Spurs very soon.
Fingers crossed, eh?

There is a rumour that Man Utd have opened talks with Ndombele.
They are linked with EVERYONE and any player that goes there is in it for the money alone. I have heard they have been low balling a lot of offers, so I wonder if their board is trying to placate Ole and his rebuilding plans?
We will be stronger next season. Daniel will faff around but will get some deals done I reckon. Give the man a chance to fuck up again first. The windows still open
Reference Welly @10.54,I believe the Chav appeal will not be heard until after the window closes. It looks like Lampard will be integrating youngsters this season.
Everything else is spot on.If the Levyologists cannot see finally what’s going on with our club then there is no hope.
All these changes to the rules to suit VAR will definitely fuck the game up.The referees are absolved of all blame, not that they have ever been held to account.A recipe for diaster.
I mentioned Tierney yesterday as being within even Levy’s reach.I think him and Robertson are possibly the best young full back pairing in International football.
No chance there then. That fucker Levy has a lot to answer for,but never will because he’s following uncle Joe’s mantra, don’t spend anything you don’t have to.

That was for Gaza about var and ‘modern’ football
H I understand you’re not a fan of IPads, but this morning I cannot get rid of the privacy agreement. Is anyone having the same problem.Hasn’t happened on any other site.
Right off every player playing in a country, because you don’t respect the quality of the football played in their league?
Totally agree bar is going to change things massively, one thing you missed was defenders holding in the box. For defenders that is almost a freebie or given as part of the game ,a lifetime of holding or tugging will be hard to eek out of ones system. Shit loads of pens this year.
The rule changes have just made match fixing easier for the bookies and officials. They’re hiding it in plain sight. Excuses like “the ref’s just applying the rules” and “if it’s in the rules, it’s there to be given”. I guess it’s also illegal to disqualify legally blind people from operating the VAR.
By ‘drop the ball’ were you ferrying to a bollock?
Levy will prevaricate until his hair falls, oops it already has. Someone else, likely Chavski if their transfer ban is overturned, will come in and nick him from under our noses.
Levy is the sloth of the transfer negotiation, he drags things out to a ridiculous level giving the other side a million chances to walk away or tell him to go do one. Which is of course what he wants. At which point he says “result – I’ve saved some more money”.
He sees to think he’s negotiating with his own money. In actual fact it’s ours. He’s a nasty little fucker who is slowly but surely strangling the life out of this great club by his shameful antics. He cares nothing about us fans or the players, his whole little world is made up of pound signs. He’s murder his own granny to make money.
“GK on their line nonsense” I actually thought they adjusted the rule the wrong way, the keeper should be told to stand still until the player begins his run up, then at that point they should be allowed to travel in any direction they like. I think Penalties would be far more fun that way.
Strangely enough that’s exactly what the critics said about Virgil Van Dijk whilst he was playing for Celtic before Southampton bought him.
No thanks, mickey mouse league.
So that’s what the cockerel’s actually sitting on them!?
My guess is that following Fulham’s shocking showing in their PL season, Poch no longer rates Sessegnon, and I’m not sure I do either.
Not sure on this one. Sometimes difficult to judge players from a league with a lower standard of football. I mean, Spurs ladies could win the SPL.
Did I say 50 mill for Wan Bissaka? After the under 21 performance and his own admission his head was turned by transfer rumour I think that one should be swerved. If you can’t focus on playing for your country there’s something fundamentaly wrong with the attitude.
Tierney at £20 mill anybody?
“Oh bring us some figgy pudding ….”
I prefer ‘brutal rationalist’ … what I like about this story is that it’s a great opportunity DL to drop the ball. Again.
The odds of DL doing the right thing are slim. He;s probably still trying to sell Toby
THFC home of the fig pudding
I always had you down as an eternal pessimist. What makes you think that a proper football club won’t come in for him and offer more than a ten year repayment plan, a 5% deposit and assorted goodies such as gift vouchers to the Spurs shop?
Has to be done. Zero excuses.
I see the football world like a bad drunk whose antics the night before slowly come back to them, it’s dawning that VAR is going to turn our game into a unwatchable farce. I said it from day 1. Now, Adrian Durham is…….Adrian Durham but his rant about the subject was on point. Talked about how refs are not actually doing their job and are completely undermined and how the good ‘anonymous’ ref has now gone cos VAR and the officials are now centre stage more so the players and fans and the soul of the game has been taken. Exactly right. Top level football will be unwatchable this season onwards , so many ambiguitys that VAR can never solve and this handball and GK on their line nonsense is just adding to the circus. The beautiful game is dead and I can’t help thinking it’s deliberate to drive the remaining old school lovers of the game out to make way for these new consumer breed of popcorn munching, bank balance celebrating, prosseco guzzling fly by nights.
All very lamentable.
Your enthusiasm is admirable. However you need to factor in the penny pinching twat first. Apparently sessegnon is gonna have talks with Palace. Tut tut Daniel, another one bites the dust..
“welcome movement”? Wot, like wot you get after taking a laxative?
I admire your continued optimism Tappa.
