Mauricio Pochettino said many times during his Tottenham reign that he could never manage Arsenal.
In 2018 the Evening Standard quoted him as saying: “I am never going to be manager of Barcelona or Arsenal because I am so identified with Tottenham and Espanyol.
“I grew up in Newell’s Old Boys and will never manage Rosario Central. That is my decision because I prefer to work on my farm in Argentina than in some places.”
Many Gunners would likely love the 47-year-old as their boss right now, with the club currently sat in mid-table, out of Europe and being led by someone with zero previous experience as a no.1.
And those dreaming Gooners might have got a little excited on Friday night when Poch was spotted at the Emirates Stadium posing for a photo with Ian Wright.
The reason behind the visit remains a mystery but Poch watched on as Arsenal lost 4-2 to Manchester City in the Premier League’s U23 competition.
We’ve got both so we’re kool🌚
