Pedula | ‘we repeat – wants to stay’ Paratici fail on the cards?

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur wants to improve their attack for next season to give it more scoring depth and rely less on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. Of the various players that the north London club wants, one of the top targets is AS Roma’s Nicolò Zaniolo.

However, Spurs might have to cross him off their list. Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla reports that the 22-year-old wants to remain at Roma, where he has a contract until 2024.

Spurs club chief Fabio Paratici reportedly met with Tiago Pinto to discuss a possible deal for the Italy international, but no serious offers were exchanged between the two executives.

If Zaniolo wants to remain with the Serie A side then it’s another name that Spurs will need to move on from after Arsenal are on the verge of landing Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus if reports are accurate.

Zaniolo made 42 appearances this past season, scoring eight goals and recording nine assists.

With Levy, it quite often tends to drag on until the deal collapses…

I agree we should get Diaz but in addition – we’re replacing the Scarlett spot AND the Stevie B slot. Should get both. We’ve spent very little so far and if the stadium can’t result in a higher wage bill what’s the point?

Both in please 😉

But of all the people we are chasing, they still waffling. Get a player who wants to come. Conte system is good enough. I still believe he may not be the sexy back, but we will get our business done and ready to roll. Torres, maybe waiting for some other club that is not coming to get him. Skriniar? Lol waste of energy you don’t chase s player for 3 windows that have no interest in your club. Bremer, i don’t know much about and Bastoni seems like he also is waiting for some else to come get him. Why waste time? Next week the dominoes will begin to fall. Everton will realized Richarlison is going nowhere for $65M. The problem is if he becomes Chelsea #1 target instead of the backup plan. With Jesus off the market at that price, if Chelsea don’t over pay, we got him at 45M as well.

Richarlison will be a great signing for Spurs, has an ‘edge’ we need – Stevie and Moura have half the niggle.

This bloke could be a competent Lamela

Seems like Jesus to Arsenal (makes sense), Sterling to Chelsea (makes sense) and Richarlison to Spurs (makes sense)…Raphinha somehow still makes it to Barca

Most, nearly all, of these transfer “targets” are completely contrived. By the media for clicks. By agents to stir the pot. Maybe even by HH (joking of course).

For everyone wishing 10 new signings and the expulsion into the sun of Tanguy, Winky etc, well, the process does take time. Players under contract have to ok the move and sign new contracts. These guys aren’t business people. They always think they can get more money or find a better team so they wait to see how the chips play out. Then both teams have to agree on a price and, with us, on a payment schedule. So it drags on until the clock winds down.

Lenglet is a waste of time and money. I agree with Diaz but Not Richarlson

Ok and failed to see why Jesus was ever on this list. He was not going to come to Spurs. Leaving one situation to return for the same. Make no sense. Zaniolo is a day out of bed from being injured for 2 months. The 2 players likely are Diaz and Richarlison, not sure why we chasing the rest of the world. Lenglet bag is pack, just go get him. We win something this year we will be doing more preseason deals next year. Everyone wants a winner. We are not.
Let that rest for a minute.
