Paratici’s comments about Kane will encourage Tottenham’s players reckons pundit

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham players will be happy after Fabio Paratici appeared to defend the club’s relationship with Harry Kane recently.

This is the opinion of former Leeds United man, Noel Whelan.

The Tottenham football director revealed, as reported by Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, that Kane loves the club after he tried to leave in the last transfer window.

The England captain appeared to have his head turned by a bid from Manchester City.

However, Spurs refused to sell and Paratici confirms the striker is happy to remain at the club and contribute to their rebuild.

Whelan reckons it was a positive message that would have delighted the club’s players and fans.

They know how big a player he is and wouldn’t want to lose him for anything, so the words of Paratici would have served to calm the nerves.

Whelan adds that Kane will now look forward to getting more chances and also break his Premier League goal drought for this campaign.

“I think it’s encouraging for Spurs fans,” he told Football Insider.

“You don’t want to lose a star player like Harry Kane, there’s no doubt about it.

“He’s the talisman at the club, he’s been there so long now that he’s part of the roots at the club.

“Those comments will be music to the ears of Heung-min Son and everyone else at the club – you don’t want to lose that calibre of player.

“At the same time, Harry Kane will want more chances in games to keep him happy.

“He’s only happy when he’s scoring goals and winning football matches.”
