Tottenham full-back has undergone a hamstring surgery as confirmed by chief reporter for Daily Mail, Sami Mokbel.
According to the report, Ryan Sessegnon has suffered the recurrence of the same injury that troubled him in the final stages of last season.
Sami Mokbel confirmed that the player is now set to ‘miss the start of the season’ and will be expected to be out until September at least.
He wrote:
“The 23-year-old will miss the start of the season, with his duration on the sidelines likely keep him out until after the transfer window.
As per Mokbel, this is a huge ‘blow’ for Ange Postecoglou. The new manager hoped to assess the young full-back in the pre-season before making a decision over his future.

The report also claims that Sessegnon was attracting interest from a number of English clubs including Crystal Palace, Fulham and Nottingham Forest as well as clubs from abroad including the likes of Marseille and Benfica.
But this injury is now expected to end their interest in him for now.
With Sessegnon sidelined for an extended period and Ivan Perisic expected to depart, Tottenham now faces a left-back dilemma in the ongoing transfer window.
The team’s options are currently limited to Destiny Udogie, a promising 20-year-old left-back who was signed from Udinese last season but subsequently loaned back to the Italian club.
Udogie’s return to Spurs follows an impressive campaign in Serie A, during which he contributed three goals and four assists.
As the transfer window progresses, Tottenham will need to consider alternative solutions to address their left-back needs and find a suitable option, perhaps a more seasoned player for the role.
