Opinion: You Don’t Need Belief With Mourinho He Simply Delivers

By The Boy -

The impact of Jose Mourinho is tangible. No fingers crossed, no talk of building. With the Kosher One at the helm, there is finally reason to take the ambition talk that comes out of the club seriously.

Tottenham have leapt up the table, winning 4 games out of 5, putting us in the same form bracket as Liverpool and Leicester City.

This is an interesting table to dwell upon. For all the upbeat talk surrounding Chelsea, Frank isn’t sustaining their feel good factor, whereas Ole Gunnar Solskjaer isn’t as much trouble as one might think.

I’ve been routinely praising Dele Alli, and this here we see why.

Not just back to winning ways, but delivering all round quality performances to go with them.

A veritable goal and assist machine.

Sonny is hot on Dele’s heels, and again, proving himself to be another hugely influential player.

Harry Kane has a new rival. Lucas Moura, who seemingly couldn’t buy a regular game under Mauricio Pochettino, is another player to have found a new lease of life.

Messi and Rooney were different times in different places. Marcus wasis now times here in urban London. Different pressures for these youts now man. Anyway it is what it was now i suppose. All this gonna eventually make him so much stronger. HE WILL GROW UP. he’s our boy you know. Since 6.

Rooney was an england regular when he was a teen. Michael owen was at his best as a teen too, before his injury and his blistering pace was compromised… I thought poch had high hopes for marcus, made similarities to messi.. Then in his book said that wasnt wise and he had behaviour problems. Rumours are he was acting like he was already a superstar, turned up late for training constantly in plush cars when asked not to, not really putting the effort in, mental application and discipline is everything at the top level.. Marcus himself admitted he was ‘difficult’.. When messi was a teen he was starting for barca with the likes of xavi and ronaldinho.. I imagine marcus acting brat like myself i was a nightmare as a teen 😆.. Good luck to the lad anyway hes at a portugese club now.. If he was really that good hed be at barca, real or another prem club.

HE WAS A TEENAGER. and we couldn’t manage him. They say Marcus’s football faults are “he holds on to the ball too long and doesn’t pass it when maybe he should. Who’s faults that then? The people that trained him from six years of age maybe. Anyway the way I see it is Marcus just wants to get the ball “pick locks” on the way to the goal and score. (In style) thats his thing and I like it. I hope no one tries to train that out of him. Greedy positive attacking players, there’s not enough of them. (Entertainers) I like them. I’m just sad to see the boy go brother that’s all. I’m not sad to see poch go because it was time for him to. I wasn’t Marcus’s time. He’s was still a boy. 😥

Marcus got some skill for sure. But mental attitude counts for so much… Out of all our youngsters it was always andros townsend that stood out the most, thought he would become world class.. And kane always looked slow cumbersome and clumsy. I used to think sell him he will never ever be world class. He used to miss so many shots in so many games.. But perseverence and sheer practice, dedication, determination, hes blown my mind in what hes become… Kane has it mentally..and works for it its why he is where he is…. Marcus is where he is because he doesnt have it… Mental is 90percent of any top sport

We have beaten the teams we were expected to beat.. But bayern and manure schooled us so far its the same story.. Come up against 2 big teams so far and we lost both. They are not the bayern and manure of yesterday either. Good results so far,, but its after the Christmas period that pressure guage turns up, big games ahead… Eriksen needs to go and it would be marvellous to land a quality marquee signing or two.. Bale or anyone else of similar standard.. Dreams… This is definitely maureens last job in england, nowhere else for him to go, any other club would be a severe drop in status apart from city and liverpoo.

The tinker man and arry did well too. Tinker man did better. My mate who was at pochs Ajax game said his range of emotions were bigger than at arrys inter game. Arrys inter game hasn’t been topped for me. YET. West upper was bouncing 😊

I remember when I used to go watch him with my grandson at the lamex. The boy wanted to ball like him. Used to watch him like a hawk. Everyone did. You could ask anyone at the ground who would make the first team first? Silly question it was. Not winks and skipy

Poch never played Marcus coz he wanted all the boys to know if your attitude stinks you won’t get a first team kick. To$$er. I can’t forgive him for that. Best Footballing yout we’ve ever had come up through the ranks. Off your seat baller. I’m gutted I won’t see him dazzle at the new lane. Oh and the SEVEN. I ain’t feeling sorry for a man who’s healthy and eats better than most. Not saying I don’t want him to do well else where.

you could argue that such a short view doesn’t account for the “who” we played vs other teams. That said, you can only beat who is in front of you. I still find wit Alli when the game is going away from us, he flaps his arms about a lot without doing much else. I would prefer to see him fight harder. That is a bit nit picky though.

Totally agree with the comments below. You kept writing “back the manager”. If he had been backed properly, things might have been different. I am not comparing Poch to Maureen who is a proven winner, but Poch did a great job with limited resources, so cut him some slack.

Praise the team and/or the new manager all you like, we are winning. Got to love that feeling, I do but….
Poch bashing at every opportunity, after you said he should be backed and wasn’t is just wrong. He’s gone, leave him alone. Click,Click.
