One Image Shows Us Just How Poor Ludogorets Were Last Night

By The Boy -

It is a rare thing for post match analysis of any game to contain this sentence; the total xG in the match for Ludogorets Razgrad was 0.00. Anyone in any doubt as to the quality of our COVID-19 and injury plagued opponents, this hopefully ends the mystery,

This was another game won, and the object is to win every game, but I’d caution against making any emphatic pronouncements about players until they’ve turned it on against opponents who might be able to put up a fight. Without any intended nastiness to our young substitutes, José was pretty much comfortable for us to go down to 8 men for the last minutes…

Specifically I have doubts about both Gareth Bale and Carlos Vicinius after watching a game, but more of that later. Spurs have two more matches to see out in order to exit the Group stage triumphant.

Oh, and the crazy illuminated arrow is Harry Kane’s gloriously miss-hit cross to the Welshman.

They looked like the spirit was good, I’d like us to start having more of the ball against decent sides too. Although hasn’t happened so far.

Whatever I think of Jose’s style of play, he isn’t (currently) the miserable sulk that he had become in his last two jobs. Although he didn’t begin those jobs like that either.

I’ve been impressed with the results and his change in demeanour. If the results keep coming I’ll put up with the 25% possession stats. If we win, it’s ok.

He’s decent for Wales, he’ll get a bit better, he has the touch and he’s great on the ball in and around the penalty area. Probably one of our best crossers of a ball, his link up play will be excellent the more he plays with Kane, Son, etc.

Is he going to run past three defenders and curl it in anymore? – doubt it. I do think he’ll establish himself as a first pick sometime in the next six league games, just sneaking ahead of Moura or Lamela, though even then he’ll be rotated.

Well known I thought that bale was a luxury buy, just like Reggie( But look what happened there).
Sure has lost his edge, a bit CE23 in the defensive tackling. Reggie is a star on the rise, as is Tanguy at the moment, He’s got some serious Moose in his veins. I thought Dele had a good game, if he keeps going it will show the Jose effect, which I am warming to.

Harry Winks, Harry Hotspur not Harry Kane. At least he owned up about it, Funny what the Gaffer said.

I’m becoming a little pessimistic that we have even half the player in Bale that left Spurs for Madrid 7 years ago. He obviously needs to get match sharp but there are a growing number of questions about just what his impact might be for us this season.

I’m not sure he was a Jose pick either, he doesn’t have the pace he once had and Jose rarely picks flair over functionality within his chosen system of play. I’m still hopeful he will have an impact but it might be in certain moments or off the bench.

On another note, Tanguy and Dele could have something good going as a creative hub in the final third. Jose only usually has one midfielder linking play and also wants pace to break with. Like some of us have mentioned before, Dele’s omission from proceedings has been partly application and form on his part but there’s a huge tactical factor also…
