Ole Gunnar Solskjaer takes another swipe at Tottenham

By Bruce Grove -

The back and forth between Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to have no end in sight.

Both managers have recently started taking swipes at each other whenever they have the chance to, and as they prepare to meet each other again this weekend, Solskjaer has kept the exchange of jibes alive.

The Manchester United manager first took a swipe at Mourinho by claiming maybe the special one should have measured the goal after Manchester United beat Brighton 3-2 at the weekend.

Mourinho replied by claiming that the Red Devils didn’t need a bigger goal, but a bigger 18-yard box, in reference to the Manchester side always getting penalties.

Ahead of Manchester United’s Carabao Cup game against Brighton again this week, Solkjear has taken a swipe at Spurs who were given a bye in the last round before meeting Chelsea because most players of their opponent, Leyton Orient, had tested positive to covid19.

The Norwegian said as quoted by the Mail Online: ‘It depends how you want to get there, ‘You’ve got teams getting there without playing, even to this round!’

This is likely to get a response from Mourinho the next time that the special one has to speak in a press conference and it will be interesting to see what his response will be.

Babyface won’t last much longer…. Poch taking over there would ruffle a few feathers. Our ex is waiting for something.

Sessy is one player who needs to be playing more. Or loaned out.

Imagine being a young player at City or Chelsea before Frank… Loads of wasted talent… Our club tends to give the young a chance if they are good enough. If not then they are moved on, like Mason, Tom Carroll, KWP…… Our scouts have been suspect for some time though..

I am not sure what players you are referring to? Young players recently bought by us would include Foyth, Lo Celso, Ndombele, Bergwijn, Sessegnon, Jack Clarke and recently Reguilon. The fact is if you’re good enough you will play. First team selection is a meritocracy, not a right.

Of the above, Reguilon looks like a stud and will play. Lo Celso has completely won the manager’s trust and is now a mainstay of the team, Ndombele is now getting to that point also. Bergwijn has earned a lot of playing time already and deservedly so.

Clarke is a teenager and clearly not ready yet for the first team, so will go out on loan. Therefore the only two who have had more limited playing time are Foyth and Sessegnon, but in truth, neither of those two players have looked EPL standard when they have been picked, they have had chances.

Our first choice XI consists of first class international players. To give a youth player room to grow and bed in you need to give him one of those spots. It just isn’t going to happen unless they are ready and have bags of ability. Kane Winks Dele and Tanganga have done it because they have what it takes to succeed at the top level.

Who are these youth players you think should have been given more game time?

I and I guess many Spurs fans are very upset by the number of young players bought by Spurs only to be given little chance to show their skills.
Until this problem is addressed we will continue to waste money and my guess regret to our cost.
Yes this are not always British players but foreign players too.
The fault lies with our Scouts or more likely our manager who just does not trust them.

Sulkshier might win a game against us, but will never win a war of words.
