Fabrizio Romano believes that Dele Alli is going to be offered a vital lifeline by the latest Tottenham Hotspur manager, Antonio Conte. Speaking on the latest edition of Rio Ferdinand Presents 5, Fabrizio told viewers that Conte was prepared to give the Spurs burn out another chance, and in a better environment at Hotspur Way, that the skills that have been lost, could be recovered.
This was the same Dele Alli that went off the boil under Pochettino, was humiliated in the Amazon documentary by Mourinho, and even eventually exhausted the patience of the mild-mannered Nuno Espírito Santo.
I take a view that Conte has some form for recovering lost souls, however, in this instance, he will need every ounce of tolerance he can muster. For me, there is definitely a player in there, but it is genuinely puzzling to imagine what it might take to snap out of his current state.
Perhaps, Daniel Levy needs to stop trying to claw his outdated value of Dele back, sell the boy, and move on.
