Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam has shared the latest regarding Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Harry Kane.
A £60m bid for the Spurs striker was swiftly rejected by the club yesterday. Tottenham are said to be demanding £100m for their star player and Bayern’s initial offer fell way short of their valuation.
It was soon after reported that the player has agreed personal terms with the Bundesliga giants and that the German club are expected to return with an improved offer.
McAdam now claims that Bayern have prepared a second bid for Kane.
Speaking on Sky Sports News, he revealed the latest on the transfer saga saying:
“We are now being told by Sky Germany that there is a second offer being prepared, and this is a more formal offer in writing from Bayern Munich to Tottenham Hotspur.
“Their information is also that Harry Kane would be open to the move, and should he leave the Premier League, Bayern Munich would be his preferred destination.
“Of course, Spurs’ stance has always been the same, they do not want to sell Harry Kane, they want to keep him.
Ange Postecoglou would like him as part of squad for next season, and that they would be more happy to let him go on a free next season when his contract comes to an end.”
Daniel Levy reportedly intends to make any deal for Harry Kane very difficult. Spurs apparently are willing to risk losing him on a free next summer.
The situation presents a dilemma for Tottenham, as replacing a player of Kane’s caliber, who consistently scores over 30 goals in the Premier League, would be a daunting task.
Manager Ange Postecoglou is keen on retaining the English forward and building the team around him.
However, with Kane’s desire to join Bayern Munich now public, the dynamics of the transfer saga have changed.
The question remains whether Levy will once again force the player to stay against his wishes, as he did two years ago when Kane sought a move to Manchester City, or if the club will opt to let him go this time.
