Latest: Romano confirms Spurs have rejected a £60m offer from European giants for star player

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur has rejected an opening bid of €70 million (£60 million) plus add-ons from Bayern Munich in the ongoing Harry Kane transfer saga, according to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Bundesliga champions’ offer, which included add-ons, was swiftly turned down by Spurs, with the Italian journalist labeling it as “not good enough.”

It comes as no surprise that Tottenham have dismissed the offer, given that it fell well short of their valuation for the prolific striker.

The North London club is demanding a whopping £100 million, making Bayern’s initial bid a substantial £40 million below their asking price.

Daniel Levy is reluctant to sell Kane this summer, specially to a Premier League rival. However, the prospect of losing the English superstar on a free transfer next summer could potentially sway Levy’s stance if a club from abroad comes close to their valuation.

For Bayern Munich, if they are genuinely serious about securing Kane’s services, they will need to return with a significantly improved offer. The German giants will have to dig deeper into their pockets to meet Tottenham’s demands and stand a chance of signing the prolific goal scorer.

This bid from Bayern marks the first formal offer received by Spurs for Harry Kane, which potentially signals the start of a frenzied period that could determine the striker’s future.

With a long time left till the the transfer window closes, all eyes will be on how the situation unfolds from here and whether any Bayern Munich or any other club decides to meet Tottenham’s hefty price tag for their best prized asset.
