Tottenham fans are used to disappointment, especially in the transfer market. We’re hardened to it; numb to the pain of seeing our best players leave; resistant to false promises, immune to deadline day disappointment.
So The Telegraph’s despressing outlook for our summer plans will not leave a mark on most of us. Matt Law writes that we are preparing for a transfer window in which we will not be able to spend any money, except that which is recouped by player sales, and will have to make do with free transfers and swaps. It’s a very similar tale to the story broken by Dan Kilpatrick in the London Evening Standard at the beginning of the month.
This doom and gloom might test the goodwill of fans of any other club in desperate need of a squad rebuild, but Daniel Levy has been preparing for Covid-19-imposed spending limits for much of the last decade. It’s not new to us; it’s not news to us. We just smile and laugh, through gritted teeth…
So nothing new then?

Business as usual, then?

Sounds like a standard window. Up the Spurs 💪

Levy is well happy to have an excuse to spend no money

Levy will always hold up a reason not to invest in the team. It was FFP, before that it was ‘not doing a Leeds’ now it’s stadium debt repayments, only with the added Covid 19 factors on top.
Take the virus part of it away and did any sane or sensible Spurs fan believe there was going to be any splashing of the cash this summer?
Like you say, we’re bored, immune and in accept that our owners are cheapskates while at the same time our chairman gets his backside onto The Times ‘Rich List’ this year for the first time in his life. Something just feels wrong about that.
If you think our owners still deserve backing from the fans then you might as well shoot yourself in the head…
ENIC OUT.
Just chucking this out there. Couldn’t the 90 mins be divided into 3? 30 min thirds with 10 min breaks when this seasons football resumes. No? OK then. 🌚. I feel sorry for the wingers/wingbacks
