“Not to hesitate” – Valencia player admits playing a role in helping recruit Tottenham loanee Bryan Gil

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur loanee Bryan Gil was one of the players that departed the north London club during the January transfer window. The 21-year-old arrived this past summer, but the young forward couldn’t find his footing with the Premier League side.

As a result, Spurs allowed the Spain international to depart on loan to Valencia. In an interview with Radio Marca, new teammate Hugo Guillamon has stated he was one of those who attempted to persuade Gil to move to the Spanish club.

“I sent Bryan Gil a message when the rumors of his arrival began to come out,” Guillamon said. “I told him not to hesitate for a moment so that he would sign for Valencia in the winter.”

In his short period at Tottenham, Gil had 20 appearances and one assist, with no goals scored. The winger will return to north London following his stint with Valencia as his loan doesn’t include an option or obligation to buy. Gil has a contract until 2026 running with the Premier League club.

Gil is excelling back in Spain, helping Valencia reach the Copa del Rey final, where they’ll face off against Real Betis on April 23rd.
