‘Not a healthy environment’ – Journalist blames Tottenham for player’s poor form – urges him to leave

By Mehdi Gokal -

Croatian winger Ivan Perisic’s form, both at club and international levels, has reportedly been affected by his move to Tottenham Hotspur.

According to Croatian journalist Tomislav Dasovic, Perisic’s lack of playing time at Spurs is cited as a contributing factor to his dip in form and goal-scoring drought.

He also says that the environment at Spurs ‘is not a healthy and stimulating’ one and that the player needs to leave the club.

Since joining Tottenham as a free agent in 2022, Ivan Perisic has managed one goal and 13 assists in 49 appearances for the club.

Dasovic highlights the fact that Perisic, despite his status as one of Croatia’s most important and experienced national team players, has struggled to find the net for his country since joining Spurs.

He notes that Perisic appears to be “missing minutes, goals, and trophies” at Tottenham, which has negatively impacted his career.

Dasovic compares Perisic’s playing time at Tottenham to his time at Inter Milan during the 2021/22 season, highlighting how his minutes have decreased since Antonio Conte left the club.

Perisic had previously won trophies with Bayern Munich and Inter Milan, while Tottenham has not claimed silverware since 2008.

Now, there are reports suggesting that Perisic could make a return to his homeland, with links to Croatian club Hajduk Split in January.

The deal is said to have become “increasingly realistic,” with the transfer of young Croatian defender Luka Vuskovic to Tottenham reportedly opening the door for Perisic’s return to Hajduk Split.

The move would see Perisic, a player with extensive experience in top European clubs, make an emotional return to Croatia and potentially revive his career at a club where he previously played.
