Wasn’t that the season Keegan’s men put 7 past us?

It’s due in no small part to the fact that the BBC have lost the coverage of most men’s sports, so now they’re really pushing women’s sport for all its worth!

It IS hard to always retain an aura of calm in the face of the goings on at Tottenham Hotspur. One helpful reaction, indeed fairly essential I would say, to help us through this long days journey into night under Levy and the current regime is a well developed sense of gallows humour.

“Christie done it, Christie done it, I tell you!”

Those familiar with the movie 10 Rillington Place about the serial killer,John Reginald Halliday Christie will be familiar with this quote. I heard someone from the original film saying that when anything untoward happened during rehearsals someone would invariably pipe up (as I had long imagined might be the case) “Christie done it, Christie done it, I tell you.”

Not quite.. Roma were 7th this year with 62 points… The previous year they were 5th with 70 points qualifying for the ropey.. He was only there for 2 years and went backwards. Underwhelming time there.

I was really quite disappointed that year Ferguson got inside Keegan’s head and Man Utd eventually overtook the Geordies for the league title.

Richard David Bernard Taylor
Richard David Bernard Taylor

Actually, if I were seriously rich and wanted to buy a football club, I would consider buying Newcastle! When I was touring cricket grounds, I found the people in the north east consistently the friendliest; the Geordies are fanatical about their club in a one club city; you’d be able to buy the club at a very reasonable price compared with some other clubs; and if you delivered real success like the league title, you’d be a God!

Also, for one of our industrial cities, it’s reputedly not a bad looker with some nice architecture and, especially prominent in this regard, Grey Street. Reputedly, one of our more attractive industrial cities, architecturally, along with Glasgow and Liverpool. Newcastle is personally my favourite club in the north of England (by north, I do mean north of the midlands!)

Remember we took a chance with Poch did ok with Espanyol and took a saints team to top half. Roma were 3rd this year but lost a few close games as well as injuries. He’s not the big name we were after but then again we are not too manager material no champs league hardly any budget potentially losing world class striker and needing a complete rebuild.

Richard David Bernard Taylor
Richard David Bernard Taylor

Everton and/or Newcastle COULD get big investment, yes! Newcastle have now been within touching distance of it TWICE and are really overdue a change of luck. You’d also be able to buy the north-east club at a real bargain price compared with what Lewis and Levy will expect to get for Spurs.

Yes, Spurs and Everton were supposed to be Man City and Chelsea, if you get what I mean!

New stadiums have always had a reputation of bringing disappointment, or even disaster in their wake; I grew up seeing what happened to Sheffield Utd and Wolves after they built their new stadiums, relegation following soon after. Wolves spectacular crash concluded in the old fourth division! I think Sheffield Utd, a smaller club that hasn’t won a major (first tier) trophy since 1925 ended up there, too.

Who’s taking about bailing? Not renewing your season ticket isn’t bailing (do you hold one?), it’s about protesting abd voting with your feet to try and get the changes you want to see at the club you love. End of.

Completely agree, if Levy thinks this DOF thing will defect one ounce of blame from him, he’s very much mistaken. He’s already being called out for using this as some kind of ‘firewall’ to his critics already.

Levy is flip flopping from one thing to the next, trying to squeeze a solution from somewhere. Anything, other than Joe putting his hands in his pockets to help out.

This all just proves what a mess we are truly in…

I am trying to write this comment in a calm, erudite, concise, clever, witty and sophisticated way as possible as I am very well aware of the company I keep on these pages and am frequently in awe of the musings of you my piers.
Not today though, today is the last straw, I mean Fonseca, bloody FONSECA, what a joke its even worse than the lesser spotted Herr Gross.
Levy, Grandpa Joe and the rest of the clowns at ENIC have today decided that they don’t even need to try and hide the utter contempt they hold for us the fans if they make this appointment. As BH points out the new director of football or whatever title is bestowed on him is just gonna be the next fall guy for Danny boy, so when this goes tits as certainly as night follows day, we will swallow the bullshit coming out of central spin HQ of not me guv honest it was the other fella down the hall who dunnit!

In closing I’m AS MAD AS HELL AND I AM NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE

Is underwhelming after the names that were linked that’s for sure.
His record at Shaktar was very good considering they weren’t champions when he took over and they had to travel miles for home matches. In that time they also sold some key players and he left a legacy of some quality players that are worth vastly more than they paid.
They do however have a magic brasilian bush that constantly delivers. Oh how we all need one of those!

Yep, despite some rumblings about poor recruitment at Juve over last couple of seasons, Paratici does seem like a good director of football/general manager.
If he knows Fonseca well enough it could be a good appointment as it will be key they get along. Allegedly Hitchen and Paratici get on well which will also help.

They never allowed for the rise of ManCity and Chelsea and that’s the danger to Levy, big investment in say an Everton or Newcastle could render the stadium income null and void.

I think its safe to assume this is a Paratici appointment and it smacks of a man picking his fellow countryman to make life easier for himself rather than whats best foe the team. I just cannot get my head around this appointment.

I think the woman’s game would benefit from starting from scratch their own thing. New team names, badges etc. Instead of Southampton ladies, Wolves ladies etc…
It would be exclusive and unique and far more appealing and fresh. A new tournament format. There must be some horded BLM money for the liberal elite to splurge at it surely? Maybe it’s impractical but it would be something new.

You’ve gone straight for the usual dung. In case you haven’t noticed our chairman has been pleading poverty, over the last few years I and others expressed annoyance at money being ploughed into different places. The “facilities” the stadium etc, the woman’s facilities comes into the same bracket. It’s nothing to do with woman playing football. It’s more galling nonsense from the club if that’s the case. People like you just shout your little ists and isms to demonstrate what I don’t know instead of dealing with the point or the crux of the matter.

I see the BBC and sky pushing that, largely exaggerating the popularity for the agenda. Woman formed leagues when all the men were off dying in their miliions in ditches somewhere in France or Germany ….kinda a more extreme version of when they play a woman’s match at Wembley during a break in the men’s game with free admission. It was a curiosity for a while and banning was a bit pointless but I’ve watched the quality in the 80’s onwards and can’t imagine there was anything in the 30’s to seriously upstage the men’s game. Their was talk of booing and leaving at half time in matches but that was said to be nasty unfair reporting by the evil men.

You should stick to giving uninform commmentary on the men’s game and don’t be an as….. Do you know there are no minority manager in the Premier League. Not one on any officiating crew all around the league. So the men game, management and the front office has a lot of work to do and I am saying this in the year 2021. So ease off the women bashing equality crap. What are you doing for inclusivity in the mens game. Are you satisfy with the composition of the front offices, ownership, and appointments of failed managers year after year while minority manager are not given a chance to fail.

Isn’t the pitches the men train on suitable? This is why I can’t respect the woman’s game, because instead of doing things themselves like they badger on about, they cry equality and piggy back on the men’s game which is a century plus old in the making. I can’t imagine what’s next.

That bit you read out H about the culpability is classic Levy bought PR.
