‘My feeling is that….’ Former Spurs player reckons big money deal is likely to go through

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is a target for Bayern Munich this summer and Jurgen Klinsmann believes that the player will end up joining the German club by the end of the window.

Bayern Munich have not been able to agree on a deal with Tottenham so far for their star striker yet but an agreement should be reached soon.

The striker is in the final year of his contract with the London club and Spurs will be under pressure to cash in on him. They cannot afford to lose a player of his ability for a free transfer and it makes sense for them to cash in on him now and invest the money into the playing squad.

Former Spurs player Klinsmann believes that a player of Kane’s quality should be aiming for trophies and Spurs might not be able to provide them with that opportunity.

“The same thing happened to me a long time ago,” said Klinsmann to ESPN. “I know Harry’s background. What he has done for the club is unbelievable and incredible.

“Life is about, especially in football, winning games and trophies. This is the moment now where he has to make up his mind, if it’s his decision, then the deal might be done already.

“But it’s also the club’s decision and that’s where things stand. Spurs, understandably, want a lot of money for him. Bayern, understandably, don’t want to overdo it because they know they could get him for free next year. I think it’s going to go down to the wire. They will probably wait until the end of August, talking back and forth. My feeling is that he will go to Bayern Munich.”

Tottenham are going through a period of rebuilding under the new manager and they are not ready to compete for major trophies yet.

Kane is in his peak years and he will want to play for a club capable of winning Champions League titles and league titles.

The striker has been outstanding for Spurs over the years and he will feel that this is the right time for him to move on and pursue other ambitions.

It will be interesting to see if Daniel Levy is willing to sell the player before the new season begins.

Ideally, Spurs will want him to stay at the club and sign a new contract with them but that seems quite unlikely right now.
