Moussa Sissoko Urgently Needs To Remove This Recent Trait From his Game [video]

By The Boy -
LOSSES IN OWN HALF

Moussa Sissoko’s performance against the Bulgarians was unmemorable at best, with the Frenchman losing possession 6 times in our Europa League game against Lokomotic Plovdiv.

LOSSES IN OWN HALF

Hopefully this tunnel-vision is working its way out of his system. In the France versus Croatia game on September 8th, Moussa lost possession 20 times – in his own half.

What is French for wake up?!

He’s been a far better player for us than the barcodes.. He wouldnt get in the top three or four clubs starting line ups for sure, but he could get in loads of teams I believe. Also a good squad player for many teams… In fact we did not have a bad season that season… We qualified for the Champions league, and we got to the Champions league final… We wouldn’t have without our player of the season. He was immense.

Bad times when he is our Player of the Season. He wasn’t picked for France for a reason, he wasn’t good enough. He might well have character and I respect anyone who starts out a plumb and works hard to improve, but signing him epitomises the aspiration of Levy. He wouldn’t improve Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Utd, Wolves, Leicester, Sheffield Utd……in fact I’m struggling to see who he would improve, the geordies all agree he stunk out St James’ Park. £30m too!

France have loads of technically gifted, skillful, flair type players…… But every once in a while you need a battering ram in your armoury.

The Sissoko we signed I have to agree with all you said… But the lad turned it around. You are talking about our player of the season last year. A key cog in Pochs outstandin CL run. Players struggle with his physicality. He is also a fighter. He has the winning mentality unlike the likes of Davies and Winks. Team player and a beast. I bet getting run over by a truck hurts less then Moussa running through… You need all types of players in the squad to win titles.. When he was dropped for frances world cup 2018, which they won, he must have been heartbroken.. He didnt let this affect him. Next season for us he’s our player of the season. True testament to his character..

Should never have been signed in the first place and the fact that fans defend him and Lamela and Aurier show why with second rate players like them we will never win anything. I wouldn’t have them as back up players either. Same as Moura people tying themselves in knots trying to convince themselves that he’s worry keeping.

I’ll never warm to the lad, but I respect your opinion. In the game v Liverpool where VVD stopped him passing to Son, only to miss abysmally, shows you what type of player he is. I am not an advocate of praising players for doing the dirty work, that is expected of all players for me. Every player has a responsibility to work hard (Alan Shearer and Ian Rush were great goal scorers but my god they worked hard for the team when defending from the front), but then they need to be able to play. Sissoko can’t. Being classed as ok in his short passing is not good enough for me and this is why Spurs have not improved. Hojbjerg is a similar player. If you were an opposition coach you would get Hojbjerg and Sissoko on the ball as much as possible, whilst stopping the service to Kane, Son etc. Sooner or later you know they are going to give up possession. If Spurs are realistically going to win trophies we need players who can contribute on all fronts. Henderson and Fabinho are not of the same ilk as Mane, Salah or Firminio but they are able to keep the ball, score goals on occasion and do the donkey work. Sissoko for me will always be a bad buy for Spurs. As for being a good influence in the changing room, I’ll go with Jose response, “f*ck”. I want good influences on the pitch, the dressing room is secondary.

Just watched the highlights and he actually did a couple of good bits.

I still want to know what JoMo meant in the Amazon doc when his assistant told him Sissoko was the Father figure in the squad and he replied “***k”.

What he can do is crucial though. Sissoko never gets praise for what he’s good at. The dirty work. What alot of people miss and goes unseen. Even if he’s not winning the ball or making the interception, then he’s nearby helping to cause it or covering someone. He gets about and is a constant nuisance. Defensively he works hard. Doesn’t give up… Going forward he has the ability to run with the ball and go past players.. His short passing is ok now he usually retains possession. I would keep him all day he deserves his place in the squad. He has dressing room influence. He can’t pass like Pirlo and can’t shoot like Kane. But he is good at everything else he does. He has heart and passion too.

Love Sissoko.. A great physical specimen like Aurier.. I bet it hurts running into these guys. I hope both stay for now… When Moussa is good he’s very good, but when he is bad he is horrid.

Need to keep him there to keep Ndombele happy, who i might say looks a stone lighter and a yard quicker. Irony is that Moussa gave Ndom the pep talk to keep going little did he know he would nick his spot in the team.

With all the talent they have its one of lifes mysteries how Sissoko regularly gets a game for France. Doucoure is a far superior player but doesn’t get a sniff.

In 1988 the Corinthian casuals toured Brazil which included a match against the Corinthian’s in which Socrates played for both teams. Who knew. The attacking midfielder not the clever Greek one🌚

There are people who are good at football and people who are good footballers. Sissoko fits into the former. He has his strengths but ‘playing’ football isn’t one of them (at the highest level). The man is an athlete and despite him improving since his arrival I would not shed a tear if he left. If he can’t pass 5 yards now he never will be able to. Signing players like him has done us no favours.

He’s another one who’s on borrowed time at Tottenham. Body shape receiving it and first touch, poor. Goodish squad player.
