Man City remains confident that this is the transfer window they will sign Kane

By Bruce Grove -

Manchester City remains confident that they will seal the transfer of Harry Kane in this transfer window, even though they might be made to wait a bit longer.

Kane has told Tottenham he wants to leave because he wants to win trophies.

The striker delayed his return to Tottenham’s preseason in what could be an attempt to send a message to the Lilywhites.

Spurs are unwilling to sell him to a Premier League rival, but they could be forced to accept City’s approach if they remain the only club willing to sign him.

The Lilywhites will play hardball over their assistant captain and are asking for £150million.

That fee should deter any club looking to sign him, but The Evening Standard says City remains confident that this is the transfer window that they will sign the Premier League top scorer.

The Citizens have signed Jack Grealish for a record fee, yet they are still confident of breaking the British transfer record again to sign Kane.

The report claims that Tottenham is already lining up several targets to replace the Euro 2020 finalist.

They have the likes of Dusan Vlahovic and Lautaro Martinez on their radar in case Kane eventually seals a transfer away.

Youtube comments are full of idiots and trolls.. I feel like I’m losing a member of the family here… Bruce was wading in with his opinions and also in the comments around a year ago.. But now its just reporting on reports.. This is very sad indeed, I feared he would do this that time he banned everyone.. Sadly all good things come to an end..

Those other two just post garbage.

This site has very quickly become pointless.

Perhaps Harry’s trying to show any remaining doubters what happens when an organisation’s boss loses sight of what its purpose is.

Surprised no post to let everyone know but yes, without the HH posts, no disrespect to the other two but pointless. H does have a YouTube channel now but don’t really like posting on those as its “he said this ha ha ha” crap rather than a conversation..

Anyone else get the feeling that this site is about to turn to trash and become a holding pen for rehashed NewsNow articles and “pundit says this…” nonsense.

Very sad 🙁

Yeah myself, have been readimg on here from 2006 ,hardly comment. There have been a few characters on this blog over the years. Always tried to put a face to the words. The face I had for that Ronwol dude was the meth addict from Breaking bad whose wife killed him by dropping the atm on him.

I heard this before on this same very blog when Modric was agitating to leave spurs. Fans brought up his old quotes where he said he feels embarrassed with howmuch money he earns when people earn way less etc. Everyone and their dog agree that Kane wants to leave and is going about it the wrong way. You dont jeapodize your teams preseason preparations by staying away from training.

Blimey! Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. I guess the horror of unmoderated social media will soon be the only place to discuss things like this… Bye all.

He also didn’t get where he is today by selling his best assets to the competition either.

Joe Lewis didn’t get where he is today by taking advise from footballers.

My point is, that Kane may well be bargaining over his immediate future so much of what you talk about would be resolved. Secondly, Kane could sign a new deal with a release clause if the club don’t show the commitment he wants to see. An extension of a year would also maintain his value for next summer should a sale take place.

Quotes from Kane;

“It’s disappointing, I feel like the opportunity was definitely there.

“I’m not going to say it’s not there anymore of course, one or two good players can take the team over the line with Liverpool and City and teams like that.

“But for sure I feel like it was an opportunity missed for the club to do something special.”

I have a little theory that Kane and is tired of banging his head against a brick wall with ENIC’s penny pinching, running himself into the ground only to compensate for a truly shocking transfer ‘policy’ (if you can even call it that).

He no longer wants to be made to look a chump and most of this is about pure ambition to win things, not because he likes the architecture in Manchester or the way Pep wears a white t.shirt under his jumpers. Kane would prefer to win things at Spurs, his proudest achievement would be to win big and win with us, not Citeh.

However, at 28 and after propping up a project that was quite obviously allowed to go to seed by the club’s owners, he feels enough is enough.

Now, Kane and his family decided to take a break in the Bahamas (of all places) after the Euros, before heading onto Florida for more family fun before returning to London. Part of my theory is that Kane and his family are tired of the false promises and expectation management that endlessly emanates from Levy.

Therefore it’s not impossible that a summit of sorts took place in The Bahamas where Joe Lewis lives, where Kane and his advisors (his brother and father) might get assurances that the rebuild of the Spurs team would be one carried out with real intent and with backing and sanction from the only person that can decide the direction of the club.

It’s not unreasonable to deduce that the short term benefits of taking 150m for Kane now (not sure they’d get that anyway) would be outweighed by his departure. What does 150m buy you these days? They’re talking 65m for this Inter striker as it is. So three decent quality players (as part of a larger rebuild) in return for such an important player doesn’t actually leave the club in a particularly good place. Not to mention the further damage to the brand in light of the search for a naming rights deal on the stadium.

If Kane pulls this off and forces the hand of ENIC to actually become ambitious on the pitch, then he’s even more ‘one of our own’ than any of us probably imagined. I’ll be petitioning for a flipping statue of the bloke…

Competing in the same league, for all the same trophies.. Of course they are rivals… You want to win don’t you mate.. You don’t look down at the lesser teams, you look up and look to win. It’s this defeatest attitude amongst our fans and players thats hopeless.. Like handing Kane over to City…. Just no… Agree Citys squad is streets ahead of ours, but we were still one of the few teams who actually beat them last season, just a shame it wasn’t the final.

Indeed.. My money’s on him staying…. Just seen Ings has gone to Villa. We could have done with him. Would rather Martinez but if his agent said no then he’s probably right.. Then again that’s what Lukakus agent said last week.

If he’s going can’t we let Kane go to city for a decent fee but make them take our deadwood as part of the deal and they can stink out city’s training ground instead

What about… loaning Kane to PSG for a season to work with Poch and win everything going. We get Draxler and Icardi as a sweetener? That way we stop Citeh winning the Champions League.

East Stand

Why not loan Kane to City for a hefty loan fee? Let him win some stuff which he would inevitably do and then bring him back when Poch returns next summer?

I’m not sure his departure will be this summer, I think he’ll go but probably next summer. If he’s not sold what’s he going to do? He’s the consummate professional as his statement claims. I don’t think his transfer away in this window is as inevitable as one might think.

Technically, as it currently stands, THFC are still £3m-ish in credit this window.

If Levy buys Martinez, then a Kane ‘sell’ is rubber-stamped. The ‘books’ have gotta be balanced.
