This helps to explain why Tottenham reportedly wants to appoint Luis Campos as our new Director of Football for next season. So does a resume of unearthing the likes of Fabinho, Bernardo Silva, Kylian Mbappe and Nicolas Pepe during his tenures at Monaco and Lille.
Sky Sports reported in November shortly after Jose Mourinho’s appointment that Campos was the final piece of his puzzle, having already snared Joao Sacramento and Nuno Santos from the same club.
If reports from France are to be believed, the famed talent spotter is already working with Mourinho to improve our squad, as Soccerlink understands that he has offered three of his best Lille players to the Spurs boss.
The three players in question are goalkeeper Mike Maignan, highly-rated midfielder, Boubakary Soumare and young forward Victor Osimhen.

Whether we have the financial capacity to make any of these transfers a reality in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis, it remains to be seen.
But the main coup here would be having Campos up our sleeve. He may not be on our payroll, but this could be the start of a beautiful friendship.
Do you mean Campos recommending these players at the new lane?
Do you mean campos recommending these players at the new lane? For James below.
If Campos had been at Spurs and recommended Mbappe, Silva, Fabinho, and Pepe, do you think Levy would have signed any of them? If Mr Campos has suggested three Lille players I’d tell him to watch what happens. to his suggestions because the same will happen if he takes a job with our chairman.
I salute you sir.
These are the same kind of people who don’t moan about ENIC. Gullible and easily manipulated, which is most of the population let’s face it…
Any DOF, or variation on that, will have a limited shelf life at Spurs. Levy will inevitably pee the incumbent off and he will leave.
Spot on! I’ve been saying this for a long while.
Levy has worked out that paying staff well to do their job and shut up is cheaper and less risky than buying and paying players the going rate…
Wimmer wasn’t that bad but was never going to be anything more that a backup with Toby and Jan around. Having said that Sanchez looked great in his first season but looks half the player now, what’s happened there?
Back to the dreaded DOF, only a matter of time… our most recent periods of having decent teams has been when we haven’t had one!
If this guy actually has any class I doubt he’ll last 18 months under the Bald Assassin…
ENIC OUT.
Maignan is a no for me, seems like a decent shot stopper but couldn’t catch covid for shit, look at his best saves compilations on YouTube…..liabilty.
To be fair we made a handsome profit in Wimmer, also he helped Son adjust to life in England, all in all not a bad signing considering……
‘With’ or ‘of’… the level of apathy in the population regarding a distinction between the two in the statistics is quite disturbing…
This is like dying with or of COVID-19
Mitchell did he not also bring NJie,and Wimmer?
Amazed he wants to work for the little man after Paul Mitchell’s experience with him; and that was before the Covid excuse existed.
