Tottenham produced another abject display in losing 2-1 to Chelsea this lunchtime and some fans don’t see it getting better any time soon.
Without Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, Jose Mourinho clearly feels the team can only play one way but its not proving very effective so far.
The defeat leaves us four points adrift of Chelsea and guaranteed Champions League qualification. The European ban hanging over Manchester City gives us a little bit of hope to cling on to, but most fans are very pessimistic about our chances over the rest of the season.
And there is no question about where they think things went wrong – not signing a striker in January. And of course they would be correct.
It took a jammy deflection for us to get on the scoresheet. We could have played all weekend and still not looked like finding the net ourselves, especially with our best fit source of goals sat on the bench for 77 minutes.
Team loses Son and now, it's all over? Losing any hope. Season is toasted.

The pain of not having a striker is something we will live with every time we play for the rest of this season.

So frustrating, this was totally avoidable!
The Board should publicly apologise to fans for not sorting in two transfer windows😡
Bye bye champions league this year and next year.

Really can't wait for July 1st.

I've said that all along. I think it's downhill for us now that Sonny is out. Amazing how different we look as a team without him. We will struggle to keep hold of him now that we won't qualify for next seasons CL.

8th richest team, highest tickets prices, no striker 😅

Graham was always a Gooner and I’m suspicious that Mourinho is still a Chelsea man.
Agree with that. Not sure that we were playing attacking football even with Harry and Sonny. The lack of movement through the middle disappoints me the most. Aimless long balls then defending the rebound in our defensive third.
Which should have been happening way back when Poch was not backed for two windows.
Bit harsh, Eddie. Jose was in a hurry to prepare for our next game being the serial winner that he is.
Too colourful by half. This is far more serious Killer 🙈 What worries me is the predicted exodus of quality after the way in which we are set up. There is no transition play from defence. We have enough creative players to at least play football. When you defend for the most part in your own defensive third the inevitable happens. Player frustration is evident.
Verts still in Jose’s plans, linked with old mates Willian and Smalling or any other 30yo ageing hack Jose has managed, and to keep the masses happy exciting links with emerging talent to give Parrot someone to play with.
What would H say if Poch kept on saying how proud he was of the boys defeat after defeat? The pressers are… refreshingly honest?
The chavs still own Morata too. He’s on loan to athletico madrid. They knew what they were doing keeping us hanging… Oh you can have giroud if we sign mertens because we cant be short.. 🤔 yeah right.
Manners maketh man…. Regardless of anything one should shake hands after its the worldwide way.
I noticed that. Bad sportsmanship, especially as he knows and respects frank. Frank was looking for him as well…. First time jose has lost home and away to any club ever thats why. Welcome to spurs 🙈
Not signing a striker pre season was suicide, never mind January… Also some quality full backs and some central midfielders needed… Where is gedson? Is he another nocluedo?… I keep thinking about the boys description of poch last year either champs league quarters or semis… Levy has sent him to war armed with nothing but an old rolled up newspaper and a toothpick 😆 The neverending story 9
It was an observation of the character of the man.
If you have ever followed my comments on this blog you would no that I am no lover of Levy and I have made countless posts despising the way he has run our club into the ground with his penny pinching, lack of investment and his regard only for his self aggrandisement at the expense of the football club.
I’m with you mate like just about everyone on this blog.
Yeah let’s blame a manager who inherits a busted flush of a squad …..
Your anger should be aimed in one direction ….. The owners and their continued lack of proper investment in their main product….
Nobody else seems to have seen Mourinho blank Lampard at the end of the game. This is typical Mourinho, when he’s winning he’s all charm but when things go against him he’s a bad loser. We can expect to see more of this boorish behaviour in the coming weeks.
City have escaped 2 pens.already, handball by De Bruyner in the area from a free kick and Ederson wiping out Iheanacho with a follow through which would probably have seen an outfield player sent off.
Eighth richest club in the world, highest ticket prices in England, highest paid chairman in the Pl= no strikers. What happened to the beautiful game? To dare is too dear. Until the fans show a bit of backbone and protest, nothing will happen and the vampire squid that is Enic will continue to suck the lifeblood out of the football club led by Captain Useless, Daniel Levy.
If we wasn’t scoring but playing wonderful attacking football then I’d agree it wasn’t Jose, but the football is shocking…
Its not signing a striker in the summer when letting Janseen and Llorente go is the problem..its an easy excuse to use “January” as the blame!!
“the board should publicly apologies to the fans”…hahaha…no, they just put prices up, and book events, thats what they are good at..
I am not even sure I like it if we win. It’s dull,I don’t watch to be bored and maybe win, it’s entertainment. If all I wanted was the 3 points I wouldn’t bother watching… So now I simply won’t unless I simply have nothing else to do. Some people are happy to watch regardless, it’s those people that have given levy the licence to print money while abusing our loyalty.
Its more than the obvious lack of a striker, there is enough ability out there to create chances but we aren’t setting up to do that lately.
Mourinho (Poch Mark II) is very HAPPY with his boys. I wouldn’t want to watch a team that he’s not happy with.
It’s up to the fans to vote with their feet and wallets.
I watch when I can. I use it as therapy, a kind of self punishment for my mister meaners.
Ive done the same since the Liverpool game. Although I do watch the games later on.
Watching us play this gutless brand of football is not what supporting a team is about.
Im trying to stay positive but Jose needs to be a bit braver. Pragmatism is great when you win but when you loose its gutless and ruins your weekend.
I enjoyed game today…I didn’t watch, went out with family and just saw the score… Most enjoyable Jose game I have seen in ages. While Jose is in charge I may revert to simply catching the final score and a couple of match of the days.

“Spurs failing to sign a striker simply isn’t levy’s fault”

?
You come to a stage when you suddenly realise that moaning and wishful thinking won’t change fak all. No investment on the grass makes the over priced stadium and training facilities pale into significance.
Levy was too cheap to pay Llorente what he was worth and actually offered him a reduced salary, so he didn’t resign with us, leaving us yet again with just one striker, Harry Kane.
To compound this idiocy Levy then failed to sign a striker in the transfer window and now we have subsequently lost our other most prolific source of goals, Sonny, leaving us effectively with no strikers and no plan B.
Chelsea, on the other hand had three strikers, Giroud starting, Abraham on the bench and Batshuyai, who couldn’t even make the bench. The difference between a properly constructed, balanced, squad and one cobbled together on a shoe string.
