“look at yourself…” – Tottenham star brutally slammed for his recent comments about manager

By Mehdi Gokal -

Former Tottenham player Graham Roberts has criticised Tanguy Ndombele for his recent comments regarding Antonio Conte.

Ndombele blamed the Italian manager for his loan move to Napoli this season, stating that he was not given a chance to prove himself and was never part of Conte’s plans.

In a recent interview with So Foot (via Gianluca Di Marzio), Ndombele revealed his frustrations at being forced out of the club, stating that “with Conte there was no choice, I would have liked to demonstrate my value on the pitch but I was on the edge of the group. It was communicated to me from the first day of training with the team.”

Club legend Graham Roberts has now hit back at the Frenchman, claiming that he needs to take responsibility for his lack of success at Tottenham rather than pointing fingers at others. He suggested that Ndombele needs to look at himself and stop blaming everyone else for his struggles.

He tweeted:

“Tanguy Ndombele talking a great game again why are you not playing at Napoli then ? Blame Jose blame then you blame Conte then you blame spurs maybe look at yourself pal. You have lots of talent but you need to stop blaming everyone but yourself.”

Ndombele was signed by Tottenham from Lyon in 2019 for a club-record fee of £63m, but has failed to live up to expectations since his arrival. He has not impressed any of the managers who have managed the club in recent years, including Conte.

The midfielder’s loan at Napoli has also been disappointing, and the Italian club are unlikely to sign him permanently despite an option to buy, with his asking price deemed too steep by Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli,.

However, Ndombele will have another chance to prove himself at Tottenham under a new manager in the summer.
