This is precisely the sort of bleep-housery that I genuinely love about Giovani Lo Celso, it’s the sort of true grit cum sportsmanship that breaks up play and helps teams to win games.
One of our boys helped win the Copa América this weekend, which is something that ought to be celebrated. Silverware. Nothing else. No excuses, just pure success.
My only concern is that Lo Celso failed to complete an entire 90 minutes for Argentina, during this competition.
It is also worth noting that Gio has failed to achieve a full game for Spurs on a consistent basis since we signed the boy.
Gio is closer to being ready to make that step forward, Tangy has more of a leap to make from where he’s been at for me. Hardly makes it through 90 mins, he needs to get over that hurdle first. His ability is undoubted though.
I like Gio, he’ll come good in the right environment. He and Tangy have come to a club in disarray, will hardly have helped them…
Messi was the architect behind 9 of Argentinas 11 goals up to the final, and deservedly got the award for Best Player of the Tournament. Been excellent. But that Villa keeper has impressed in several games indeed.
I watched the game too. Messi did nothing at all.DePaul was great and DiMaria scored an offside goal that somehow VAR allowed. Gio got taken off because for sure he would’ve gotten a second yellow as all he really does is look to slide tackle guys whenever possible.
What player were you two watching? In a match where players were kicking lumps out of each other and constantly on the ground whinging and moaning, he wasn’t one of them. Did you even watch the match?
He “failed to complete 90” because he was on a yellow from 51min, and the teams were allowed 5 subs, all of which were used. It was also a very intense and chaotic match, I watched it live. The pitch looked awful, a bobbling nightmare for players used to the perfectly groomed surfaces where balls into feet don’t end up bouncing 8′ high before arriving.
Messi was anonymous, other than fluffing a great chance. Lauturo Martinez was about the laziest player on the pitch, which I couldn’t get my head around. That Villa goal keeper was outstanding, btw, best player in the tournament for Argentina.
If Lo Celso was as good with his right foot as with his left, I think he would be a world beater.
Ndom&celly gonna rip it up this season. The real them coming. COYS
I’m still on the fence re. Lo Celso. He has talent and can work hard in some games, but his stats are not particularly good considering he was supposed to be our Eriksen replacement. However it was only his first season so there is time for him to shine yet. There is definitely a class player in there.
I don’t get why he gets so much criticism for our fans I believe he would be the best midfielder at the club if injury free( I know sounds familiar).
Hit him hard a couple of times and he loses interest and sits down and waves to the referee. Too much of a snowflake despite his talent.
Yes, you’re right, it’s exactly that: a coincidence.
Messi gets his Copa On 10/7 exactly 5 years after CR7 gets his Euro. They wear 10 and 7…..
All coincidence…
He doesnt cut it for me 99.9% left foot for a central midfielder, with as you say an inability to last 90 minutes suggests he should probably be playing in the Spanish or Italian leagues.
