Liverpool’s Third Goal Had An All Too Familiar Look About It – video

By The Boy -

Here’s the third Liverpool goal scored with our unintentional assistance. This time it was Joe Rodon who more or less went through the same pantomime as Eric Dier did for their first goal in the 49th minute. Double checks that the opposing player is coming in – does nothing – watches the goal rattle home.

Neither Rodon nor Dier are good enough at this level, which is particularly troubling given Eric is supposedly the heir to one of our centre back thrones.

Whatever negative way you want to look at the situation we find ourselves in, I am thinking of how Mourinho will attempt to cope without his saviour in Harry Kane. His reliance on him to do two even three jobs on the pitch was too demanding, as brilliant as he was not only providing goals and assists but having to make vital defensive interceptions as well.
By the way the challenge by Thiago was meant to hurt Kane imo, but anyway the question remains of where do we go from here now he is ruled for any number of weeks. I would personally go for Ings now because he is someone who knows how to put the ball in the net, something we clearly are not capable of doing well enough under the present system. I’ve said it before but we have to be more creative in the final third, so that also means giving Bale more chances than the token gestures he’s getting currently.
However Mourinho has his own unshakeable mindset, so we’ll see what he comes up with as an alternative to Kane.

Wonky

Still, 1st time scousers av been on the up side of one this season.

I think you’re being a touch hard and a touch premature on Rodon H. Playing alongside a defensive master like Eric Dier he will receive a football education like no other.
