Live Blog: José Mourinho Goes Under The Blades

By The Boy -

It comes to something when playing the side seemingly Sellotaped to the foot of the table becomes a big deal. The reality is that football now exists in an Internet petri-dish and at the other end of the microscope, we have volatile baboons prone to rioting and frequent bouts of hurling unmentionable substances at the lens.

Should the serial winner Mourinho be able to best a side that have only won one game so far all season? Why of course, but in this surreal 202o/21 term, crazy results have kept the bookies smiling. Fellow strugglers West Brom have drawn with Man City and Chelsea; Fulham drew with us and Liverpool.

United are 15/4, Spurs are 3/4, and the draw is 13/5.

I expect Spurs to win and win comfortably. Sheffield United have drawn only twice so far and lost in 15 occasions. It’s little wonder that Steve Bruce was seething after losing at Bramhall Lane last week (although that was a VAR instigated penalty decision).

Would replace with Toby. Who is better in the PL – come on. Schar, Sais, Tarkovski, Mings, Ogbonna and those just from inferior teams. The top teams all have better than Eric.

Think Toby reads the game so well, he has another few years in him. Especially with decent players around him. I just don’t see Dier cutting out the mistakes. He’s gone backwards over the years, sadly. Not one of the top teams would take him in their back four.

Who in the PL would you sign ahead of him out of interest?

not allowing the injured VVD

Dier’s third or fourth name on the team sheet – going nowhere.

The closing credits are starting to roll for Toby, he’s cruising out his final season or so now. I think last time he got injured sort of told Jose to start easing him out, he can’t rely on him long term

Dier I think will be the future for the next couple of seasons at least, maybe Rodon too. Look how mad Jose was when he thought Dier had to come off vs Fulham. Dier’s a main man for Jose and he’s getting better imo

Sanchez I think is gone barring Ledley turning him around somehow

There isn’t a side in the league not thinking the exact same.

Story of the league – its ridiculously open, ridiculously unpredictable.

All about who capitalises now and gets consistent through the closing straight

Just reading about football and dieticians. Seems fennel tea is popular with the players especially before cup games. Very calming if goes to a fennel tea shootout apparently.

He’s been overplayed as usual but he’s just utter quality. Think how good it will be when he gets back to top form! Brilliant.

When you look at Kane’s chances the one he converted was probably the most difficult of the lot!

I know Moura was only a bit player, but he made a Bulls Ring of it when in 2 great positions. The Brazilian Winks.

We were incredibly wasteful in the final pass , shooting or finish, otherwise it could have been 6 or more, that’s got to improve.

To think we’ve had a bad run and still only 3 points from the top, all those silly leads we’ve given away 🙁

I know what you mean, some of these clubs ‘roll out the red carpet’ for Man City or Utd sometimes and just roll over.

Then again, City only put one past them in this same fixture. Fulham also drew with Liverpool and looked decent against Chelsea until the red card yesterday.

It’s been a season of unexpected results so we can’t always think we’re a special case. Tough league, Sheff Utd are a strong ‘weakest side’ in a division imo

Yes, don’t think it’s Jose’s tactics holding him back from scoring more at the moment – seems to be a bit casual with his finishing.

At least he’s smiling.

Just making the point the WestBroms, Fulhams play out of their skins against us. Poor as Sheffield are they have had a good few chances that better teams won’t miss.

They’ve only lost by 2 clear goals a few times in the league this season?

They don’t get tonked 11-0 every week – gimme strength bringing out their best…one of their heaviest defeats!

I accept that, but 9 shots in 65 mins is not good enough against a team like this. We have scored almost every time we hit the target. They are looking scared when we attack… Yet we retreat and invite pressure.
