Video: Tanguy’s Peach Of A Strike Puts Spurs 2 Goals Clear

By The Boy -

A noticeably slimmer Tanguy Ndombele has impressed all game; least of all for still being on the park on the 60th-minute mark, but the goal was simply sublime. From a final position where all looked lost, the Frenchman managed, with two men on him, to flick the ball into the goal from the most implausible of angles. Try to see the strike from behind the goal – it really was amazing,

All my comments are meant in good humour even if they don’t read that way. Didn’t pop back to see how long it took but good to know, ta.

I reckon it’s been fitness mainly and perhaps his determination to get fit. However, he’s the kind of player that seems to love to have the ball and also contribute killer passes for others and help the team. I have never seen lazy player on the pitch with him, just a very natural player…

He’s obviously been lacking fitness and perhaps not putting it in during training as much as he might have, who knows. He’s the most talented midfielder we’ve had since Dembele and Modric before him. He has a way to go to show the consistency but the boy has ‘tekkers’!

He’s an amazing talent, those that had written him off just don’t know what they’re seeing with players. Clowns…

Good to see him deep dictating the game. He must have put in 15 minutes of walk time. He is not a #10 being saying that all season. The effort, pace and recovery is less when playing the deep role. He pass, release the ball then go for a walk. That kept him strong throughout the game, going as high has he wants and not being ask to play at the #10 spot where he is not conditioned to play.

Last few seconds of these highlights show Tongee’s effort from behind the goal.

Tongee warming to the task but I feel we’re still only seeing half of what he’s capable of; good to see him looking fit & a little lighter on his feet. Son looks like he needs a rest.

The timing of that goal was hugely significant as it turned out, and it should give him extra encouragement to go on improving.

Loved his contribution today. He’s getting better and better. Great to see the turnaround in his attitude and level of commitment this season.

I think we have potentially another world class player. Go Tanguy.
