Ligue 1 star will only sign for Tottenham on one condition

By Bruce Grove -

Ahead of the summer transfer window, Spurs have been linked with a number of players as they look to refresh their team so that they can compete for trophies next season.

There are some positions in the team that need additions, while others aren’t so much of a priority at the moment.

The Lilywhites has one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the Premier League in Hugo Lloris, yet the Frenchman isn’t getting any younger and he will have to be replaced one day.

Because of this, Spurs have been linked with a move for goalkeepers and one of the goalies that they have been linked to is Lille’s Mike Maignan.

The young French goalie is one of the finest in the French top flight, and he would love to play in the English top-flight according to French paper, L’Equipe as cited by SportWitness.

However, knowing very well that he won’t be the automatic first pick, the condition that would be met before Maignan joins Spurs has been revealed by the same report.

The paper claims the former PSG trainee would only join Spurs if he can maintain his position on the French national team as their third choice.

It also claims that Lloris would have to accept competition for his position in the team.

That seems fair to me and truth be told, Lloris does need some proper competition and Maignan could be just that person.

Vorm will be off soon. Maybe he feels young Alfie and our other yout out on loan in Denmark ain’t ready yet. Is gaza good enough?

Is Hitchen handcuffed to a radiator in France or something?

Someone get him a hacksaw and a train ticket to Germany. He can stop off in Belgium, Denmark and Holland on the way.

What is our obsession with the French league – haven’t we bought enough N’hopers to learn our lesson yet? Besides we need a RB and striker far more than we need another keeper. You can’t hope to play 4-4-2 for season otherwise.

Don’t see it happening this year while Hugo is still playing well and we have adequate backup. There are higher priorities than a back up goalkeeper.
