“…Levy would allow him to leave” – Hutton makes interesting claim about 26-year-old Spurs man

Daniel Levy would have never let Richarlison leave in the summer transfer window says former Spurs defender turned pundit Alan Hutton

There was a late interest in the Brazilian from Saudi Pro League club who turned to him as alternative to Mo Salah after having a £150m bid rejected for the Liverpool star.

But the move can in too late a no deal could be reached before their transfer window shut.

However, Hutton believes Levy would not have sold Richarlison even if they were offered a decent fee. That is because they had already lost their superstar striker Harry Kane to Bayern Munich earlier that month and Richarlison was the only striker left.

Had they sold both of their strikers without bringin anyone on, not only would it have left them in a tough spot late in the window, there would have a back clash from fans as well.

Hutton told Football Insider:

“I do not think anybody is out with what they are looking for.

“If you are playing in the Premier League at a high standard it could be anyone and they obviously want to make their league better.

“I would never have thought Daniel Levy would allow him to leave, even if it was a decent amount of money. You think of Kane going and then Richarlison is really their main striker at the moment.

“To let him go and not be able to bring anyone in would leave them in a really tough spot so I would never see it happening.

“If Richarlison goes on from now until January and scores goals and plays at a high standard then it might happen.

“I think they will be looking at everybody in the Premier League and looking at who they can bring in to make their team stronger.”

Richarlison has really struggled since his big money move to Tottenham last summer. He failed to replicate his form from Everton scoring only 1 league goal all season and 3 across all competitions.

Some thought that his form would change under a new manager with an attacking style of football but he has yet to find his form back.

In fact, he publicly admitted that he is mentally suffering and is going to seek psychological help to improve his form.
