Levy Time? Euro’s Star Could Suddenly Be On Sale As Red Bull Leipzig Wary Of Expiring Contract

By The Boy -

Red Bull Leipzig could be on the verge of giving Daniel Levy the kind of helping hand that he hasn’t seen in the transfer market since the time Real Madrid offered the Spurs supremo Rafa van Der Vaart at the last knockings.

Tottenham has been linked heavily linked with Euros star for some time. The Athletic claimed that he has told the club he wants a new challenge after spending more than half a decade with them.

Spurs have long targeted him, and the Daily Mail says they didn’t sign him before now because they were unwilling to meet his £43m release clause. I made the case a few months back, suggesting that such a price tag would be more than prohibitive to Tottenham given our current financial woes.

At 27-years of age, the price would have to improve for Spurs to make a move. Sabitzer might even be sold for as little as £15million, with the player’s current deal set to expire in 2022, according to Bild.

To dare is to do, to cheap is to cheerful.

If it was a public company, Levy would be fired. The brand is in the toilet.

Getting to the final is a farce? Every decision the manager has made has been spot on. I’m sure jack understood, shame you don’t.

We need to look into homegrown players. Everyone we’ve been linked with do not fit this bill. Marcel is a very good, having good defensive as well as offensive numbers, not to mention being a leader on the pitch. It’s difficult to see it happening, unless we move the likes of Sissoko, Lamela, Moura on, which would be a difficult tasks itsself.

We need to sign Sabitzer period. Then bring a defender in.

Tactical move to defend a goal while kerping a player on that was a constant threat. England had 3 holding mids on the pitch at the time. Grealish was far and wide. Luke Shaw had to come inside to allow him the space. You writing about personality than what was actual happening in the game and the best route to secure the win. About Sterling losing the ball. England do not have a creative mid to make those decisive past. Kane had to come deep at times to get the ball. Sterling at the #10 spot carries the ball very often. Those 3 mids are back there for a reason.

World cup was a bigger joke than this. Panama, Tunisia, Columbia on Pens and the worst Swedish side in History…lost against any decent side they played. Euros is set up for England. Subbing a sub is downright wrong.

Grealish is a good player but so is Sterling, we’re lucky to have so many good midfielders. You don’t change a winning starting 11. I trust in a manager who can take us to a world cup semi and a euro final, so should you.

He wasn’t all that in the tournament. I’m not convinced, but for Levy prices it’s never going to be great. If a small deal for a player like Tomiyasu who wants to come is taking this long to get done , it doesn’t look good.
Something passed me by the other night as I didn’t watch the post pen extra time….but, I hear, on top of everything else, Grealish got subbed??! Rather than take Sterling off Southgit subbed the sub!? Utterly appealing stuff, it was said Jack gave the ball away or some such….reeeeally?? How many times does Sterling give the ball away??(Germany?) If I was Grealish I’d refuse to put an England shirt on again. Dispicable treatment of a professional.
This is beyond a farce now.

This lad has looked decent from what I have seen of him in the CL for Leipzig but had his injury problems last season. From the outside looking in Spurs are a mess, 70 days to appoint 10th choice manager, star striker wants to leave.. we are a hard sell at the moment and I’d question whether a player of his age and calibre would come to a club where it may be a few years before we see any meaningful european football.

If you say so. I disagree. We can afford sabitzer and we’ll also be able to offer ndom and celly better contracts if their performances warrant it

Players in their mid 20’s expect bigger salaries on their second big contract. Which is why we sign average ones generally, the only quality we sign under Levy is young and generally sold before the age of 27, when they hit their peak. Carrick, Berbatov, Modric, Bale etc.

That’s why we don’t win anything, the successful clubs keep or bring experience allied with quality in. Which is what you need to do to win stuff. If Tanguy makes good on his undoubted talent and Gio becomes a player then expect both to be sold on by the time their big contract at around 26-28 is looming. Kane next…

We can afford the going rate though. So what if he’s over 22

As for the “current financial woes”, it’s always been like that, it’s just that now Levy has a ready made excuse.

Sabitzer would be a solid addition and would improve the overall quality of the squad – especially if we can get rid of the enormous amount of deadwood dross on the books. I suppose it comes down to Levy-time, Paratici-time, Espirito Santo-time. We’ll probably run out of time.

Oh yeah sorry Sabitzer, won’t happen as he’s over 22 and no doubt wants paying the going rate for a player of his experience….
