Levy On Mission As Tottenham Continue To Reinforce Mourinho’s Squad

By The Boy -

After securing Pierre-Emile Højbjerg from Southampton; to give Spurs the central defender they had been missing since almost forever, Matty Doherty, the attacking right back that had been missing since Kyle Walker went to Manchester City, some three years ago, plus the hugely experienced Joe Hart, Daniel Levy is now on a mission not to let Tottenham be the club that the serial winner José Mourinho failed at.

According to The Evening Standard, enquiries are now being made for Danny Ings, Bas Dost, and Ruben Dias.

Danny Ings looks perhaps impossible, certainly improbable, after Southampton gave Levy a taste of his own medicine, making Spurs jump through several hoops before finally relinquishing in respect of Højbjerg, at considerably less than the originally touted asking price.

Arkadiusz Milik will be the one that got away, but the outstanding prizes from this window are so bountiful, that in such circumstances Levy can be forgiven for not snaring them all. It’s when he’s returned with a cheap punt or nothing at all that the knives come out. Fans are not unreasonable creatures. So hopefully our CEO isn’t expecting a round of applause for excelling at his day job, for once.

It’s been rather stressful for me for days now 🤣 Imagine him failing a medical or Madrid pull the plug at the last minute….

We need a striker more desperately than we need a CB. In that position we currently have Toby, Sanchez, Dier, Tanganga, Foyth and Ben Davies plays CB for Wales. In striker position we have just Harry with his dodgy ankles. In no way shape of form is Son a target man, he can’t hold it up and he’s not very good in the air. This must be priority now. We don’t score enough goals. Bale will help of course, but I hope Levy doesn’t try and serve him up as a striker.

Sanchez still has a lot to learn.I don’t think he has kicked on as much as might have been hoped for.

Reading of the game, following the flight of the ball and position sense are all things he needs a lot of improvement in.Pace and heading he has over Dier.
When Jose put Dier in the CB position I thought it was a good move, however he lacks so much.I wouldn’t have him as an automatic starter.

Was thinking EXACTLY the same thing myself.

I think sadly there is more respect there when you put your trophies on the table & they overflow

Yep, doesn’t get found out pace in a back 3

Can’t wait to see how fast this Sergio is,
I’m imagining Walker on the left with the forward play of one of the Liverpool fullback

So now it seems getting these deals done isn’t quite so difficult after all.Amazing.Mourinho must be very persuasive for 15M/year.

Can’t agree more.

Spot on.
Sanchez & Toby are top 2
Dier always has a mistake in him [less at CB than in midfield but still a mistake, but it this way, I trust him less than Aurier].
Tanganga is gonna be a star, I trust him above Dier

That thought occurred to me if we go to a back three.after all he plays there for Wales. At this stage he is probably safer there.

If we played with three centre backs now we have proper wing backs Davies can play on the left of the three.

I like Dier and I trust him … just not as a player! … and especially not as a CB!

Exactly, he’s making up for lost time, good work but he’s getting no round of applause for doing his job.

He is not there yet we still need that striker. I also feel we need a quality centre half. Super Jan is gone. Tanganga is not there yet, Dier is what his name suggests and Toby the best of the lot getting slower. Sanchez can be good as we seen when Dier had a four game break but I just don’t like or trust Dier he always lets you down.
