By Mehdi Gokal -

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano sent Tottenham fans into a frenzy yesterday with his latest update on their potential signing of Micky van de Ven.

Romano reported that Spurs are close to reaching an agreement with Wolfsburg for the defender, and the deal is in its final stages.

He has today given a further update on the transfer stating that Daniel Levy has personally stepped in to take care of the transfer as it enters the final stages of the negotiations.

Personal terms with the player is agreed but Spurs are yet to agree with the German club on the payment terms and installment.

He tweeted:

“Understand Daniel Levy is taking care of the final steps of negotiation in order to sign Micky van de Ven from Wolfsburg.”

“Deal at final stages as revealed yesterday; Tottenham have to agree with Wolfsburg on payment terms and installments then it will be done.”

The deals is close to it’s completion and once official, he will become their sixth signing of the summer.

The North London club has so far signed Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, Manor Solomon, Dejan Kulusevski, and Pedro Porro.

However, despite the potential signing of van de Ven, there is still a need for further reinforcement in the central defense.

Tottenham will hope to bring in at least one more, if not two, decent center-backs to bolster their defensive line and strengthen their overall squad for the upcoming season.

As the negotiation progresses, Tottenham supporters eagerly await the official announcement of Micky van de Ven’s signing, and they hope to see further reinforcements in their defense to compete strongly in the Premier League and other competitions.
