Leverkusen looking to beat Tottenham to Premier League attacker

By Bruce Grove -

Bayer Leverkusen is closing in on a cut-price move for Tottenham target and Leicester City winger, Demarai Gray.

The Englishman will be out of a contract at the end of this season and the Foxes will not be offering him a new contract.

He has made just two first-team appearances for them in this campaign, having fallen down the pecking order under Brendan Rodgers.

Mail Sport says the German side has opened talks with Leicester over a possible £1.8m move for the former Birmingham City man.

The two teams will hold more talks about the winger with the Germans hoping to sign him now and avoid being among several teams that may want him for free in the summer.

Gray attracted the attention of Spurs in the last transfer window and they continue to monitor him.

He hasn’t been playing for the Foxes purely because he isn’t a Rodgers type of player, however, he remains one of the best wingers in the country.

At 24, he can still get better and a move to Tottenham can see him reach new heights as a player.

He joined Leicester City in their title-winning season of 2015/2016 and played an important role as they won the title surprisingly.

You could add another 3 or 4 to that list. Their recruitment has been exemplary.

Rodgers knows to play this type, I don’t think he’s reached a good enough level myself.

I like him. Run at ya and get passed ya. English. Knows his way around the box. Good good shot on him. Hungry for fame and glory. He should be playing regular that boy. Get him in his stride and he’ll terrorize defences

Nope. The problem with spurs is we ain’t clinical enough and don’t carry out our instructions properly (YET) we’re getting there though.

Young dilan m only give a 2022 contract. I’m quite surprised by that. Keep him on his toes I suppose. He can play this kid. Keeps the ball very well.(good carresser) comparing him to Marcus I’m not sure. Marcus is quicker and much much more attack minded (striker like) dilan can play though.

We should be making signings like Leicester.Justin,Forfana and Castinge and before that Soyuncu are excellent additions to their squad. What is it that Hitchens does exactly?

So we’re in for Leicester City cast-offs now? If ever a transfer made zero sense its this one. We are targeting the wrong player. Get rid of Ali and go after Harvey Barnes. He’s developing into a fine player, as is Maddison.

I’ve been championing Ward-Prowse for ages, ten times the player Winks is.Plus i don’t see Ings as a back up to Kane,I think they could work together in the same way that Bale was supposed to link up with Son and Kane. The only problem is getting it done.
Send Bale home.

Ings and ward-prowse would be very good additions to the squad. Let Carlos v back to benfica and Harry winks sold. Add to our homegrown numbers which are low
