First, it’s nothing shy of brilliant to see Leeds United back where they belong, in the top flight of English football. North Yorkshire is a special place and Leeds is a very special one-club city. The irony of Tottenham fans that endlessly mumbled us about ‘doing a Leeds’ must really sting right now.
Mauricio Pochettino was reportedly scouting Eberechi Eze in November last year, just before the Argentinian was sacked from Spurs. Since then, the 22-year-old has continued to improve with Championship regulars, Queens Park Rangers, were the boy has racked up an impressive 13 goals and provided eight assists this season.
Interest from West Ham has been mooted, but Hammers News reported that they felt Eze had more of an eye for a Spurs move, however SunSport understands that Leeds have been in contact with QPR since January, with the hope of securing the playmaker’s services this summer.
If Marcelo Bielsa is looking for the occasional slide rule pass and a lad capable of carrying the ball, then his luck might just be in, with Eberechi Eze.

Definitely the best manager in the last decade, I’d say longer. It depends how you measure success, no trophies true but if you purely measure it on league positions then Poch was the best since Bill Nic. We didn’t get to the biggest final in the world club game under Bill either.
One thing you can always be sure about under Levy is that NO manager is ever properly backed. Jol, Ramos even Arry and AVB were not helped properly.
Hoddle was his first managerial appointment at Spurs, a year or so into the job Hoddle said something along the lines of “it’s a bit like trying to write a novel with several keys missing from the typewriter”.
Nothing has changed but the managers, time and time again. Hoddle was the first I expect to be enthused to manage Spurs under ENIC (he more than anyone) only to find that the chairman and owners don’t share the same ambitions on the pitch.
This has been going on for 20 years, why on earth anyone would be any more optimistic about Jose than any manager we’ve had before under this lot is beyond me. Yes he’s won lots of things in the past but just look at the tools he was given to do the jobs he did. Generally always the biggest spenders in their respective league during his tenure.
It is proven that there is a direct correlation between wage expenditure and league position. We were on average 7th highest wage spenders in the League, Poch overachieved and got in the top 4 consistently.
Perhaps Jose can do the same on the same budget playing a different way, I’m not saying that’s impossible. However, a league challenge is for owners actually serious about winning, like Fenway at Liverpool and not skinflints like Levy and his cronies at Spurs.
So will the trade off of pragmatic defensive football and only having 29% of the ball at home be worth it when the end result will still be no forward motion towards winning big things?
We’ve got owners that don’t care about winning things, so the least they could do is provide entertainment and football in line with the club’s fine traditions, in return for some of the highest ticket prices in world football…

Luton fans. You can’t afford carter Vicks🌚
Fk Alan sugar and fk the tart too. BIG UP EL TEL. my guy.
Good tactically, but too many character flaws. He didn’t come out of his court case with Sugar in a good light with the judge. It was also stated by Kate Hooey, MP, in Parliament that he was an unfit person to manage the England football team. Read Paul Wash’s account of his time at Spurs and his comments on Venables.

Eze could be anything, you would think he would prefer Spurs but that depends on whether Spurs are interested, and Levy does not like competition for players from other clubs.
Terry Venables.
When we got relegated in the 70s (tuff time in the playground) it only took a season for us to return. I p!$$€d myself laughing when o Leary took them down and all their best players got raided🌚 I too want them back now though. 16 years was enough.
EZE. DO NOT MOVE UP THERE SON. STAY IN LONDON.
Leeds fan here, i loved Potch and I loved watching his side in Europe, especially the run to the CL final and ofcourse Potchs blubbing in the semi, great moments. I think you have lost that sentimental romance without Potch. He should have been backed to the hilt. Mourinio has a great record but i just dont like him or his Style. Potch was a lovely guy, Mourinio is a complete d*ck
Anyway you guys need an identity which isnt necessarily going to be fast flowing football with the current manager . He needs to buy his own players but i was to look id say your missing a classic No 10 like Coutinio
Maybe that legendary golfer Gareth Bale will come back as well ?
I am pleased you mentioned that Poch was the best manager we’ve had in ten years, although I think that he was the best since Keith Burkinshaw, as, judging by your previous comments, you are rather ambivalent about him. Agree with everything else, Enic and Levy are in this for one thing only, and it’s not silverware and glory. Everything that comes out from these despicable people is a lie and nothing will change until they sell up, whenever that might be.
Boom! in one.
Spot on, we’ve barely existed in all that time, like a body on a life support machine. The Leeds owner has ambition.
At least they won the PL title in recent years. My Leeds side is more excited for the future than my Spurs side sadly.
Very true. A Leeds fan can look on more tangible success in that period than a Spurs fan. Sometimes a rollercoaster is better than a boring straight track.
I’m more worried about having already ‘done a Levy’ and failed to back the best manager in the last decade, demolished our spiritual home and run up a billion quid’s worth of debt with various lenders.
My Dad is a Leeds fan, so they are very much a club I keep an eye on too. I know first hand the heart ache he felt when they almost folded a few years back. ENIC are parasites, but doing a leeds is still a bad thing. They have fans that have never seen them in the top flight, that are now old enough to start to learn to drive, if it had taken them another season, some could well be old enough to drink. The irony is, in the same period of time we have won 1 trophy and we are considered a “top club” by some. In actual fact, since Leeds won teh league in 92, we have ONLY won 2 league cups. So some could argue their roller coaster of 30yrs has been more successful than our frugal 30.
the fact they have made it back does not and should not ignore that it took them 16yrs of very hard times. At one point many fans were worried there would be no Leeds united, and they had to hock the crown jewels to survive. I for one would rather “not do a Leeds”. that said, there is a far cry from “doing a leeds” and doing what we have done. Declaring record profits year on year, being out spent by every team in your league and then when you do spend, spending badly. i bet if you compared not just NET spend, but NET spend vs revenue over the past 5yrs, you would be hard pushed to find a club that has spent less – however, one of them is Likely to be Liverpool. This goes to show, Levy DIDNT save us from doing a Leeds, instead he spun the line to ensure he could line his pockets, and when he did “spend to appease” it was usually very poorly done.
Certainly Leeds are a team that you feel should be in the PL. However it has taken them what 16 years to get back, so we for sure we don’t want to “do a Leeds”
I also follow Leeds as well as Spurs because I need an alternative to ENIC fc to keep me sane. Also I take great pride is doing the opposite to what Levy tells me to do “this is my club, my only club”. Get stuffed Levy I’ll follow another, better run club in addition to Spurs until such a time and you and your ENIC parasites get lost.
Congrats to Bielsa and Leeds, they deserve to be in the PL. H I think all those dum dums who used to say “Levy has saved us doing a Leeds” are now feasting on humble pie.
