Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in making a surprise move to hire Julian Nagelsmann as their next manager.
This comes after Bayern Munich sacked their German manager despite them being in a great position in the Champions League and only one point behind Dortmund who are 1st in the league.
While Thomas Tuchel is now set to take the job despite an offer from Tottenham, the London club is still interested in Nagelsmann for the job.
According to The Telegraph, Tottenham are “set to seek talks” with him about potentially replacing Conte who is expected to be sacked this week.
It also says that Nagelsmann is known to be an admirer of Spurs and used to keep a close eye on the team’s performances under Pochettino.
The report also claims that he owns a Spurs replica shirt. Spurs were previously interested in him in 2021 after Mourinho got sacked but he was fixed on a move to Bayern.
Despite Pochettino being the popular choice among Spurs fans who turned the club into a formidable force in his first stint, he is reportedly holding out for the Real Madrid job in the summer.
In the event of Conte being sacked, Ryan Mason will be taking over as interim manager for the rest of the season while Daniel Levy continues the hunt for the Italian’s replacement.
The young German coach is highly regarded in the game and has already achieved great things in his short managerial career.
