Latest: The ball is in Levy’s court as report claims ‘extraordinary’ player is desperate to join Spurs

According to CalcioMercato, Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi is still hoping to complete a move to Tottenham before the transfer window closes at 11 p.m.

According to reports from Italy in the last 24 hours, the Ukraine international has decided on his preferred transfer before the deadline with interests from Spurs, Nottingham Forest, and Leicester City.

Calciomercato reports (via Sports Witness), that Malinovskyi is desperate to join Spurs, even going so far as to call north London his ‘greatest hope’.

The report adds that Malinovskyi would prefer a move to Tottenham if the opportunity arises, but a move to the City Ground or Leicester may have to suffice if his first choice is not available.

From his conversations with the Serie A club in recent weeks, one would assume that Paratici is aware of the fee that Atalanta wants for Malinovskyi. So, if the Spurs decide to rekindle their interest, a deal will most likely be reached quickly.

Malinovskyi, who has been dubbed an ‘extraordinary’ player for Atalanta by Gian Piero Gasperiniis, is more than capable of providing the creativity that Spurs lack from the midfield, as reflected by his 141 goal contributions during his club career. For Atalanta only, he has scored 30 goals and provided 27 assists in 130 games.

Probably has his uses. Danny never spunked big on deadline day unless you count sissoko? I can see this one happening over bigger spend links. However, we need a RWB for contes system to work and pull defenders off our frightening left side. I have no interest in watching traore lumber about at great speed but the oppo only have 10 outfield players and having to put 2 on traore would create space and relieve our limited 2 man midfield.
