Latest Eriksen Quotes Sound Horribly Unconvincing Even To Own His Native Press

Christian Eriksen has told native media outlet Ekstra Bladet that speculation over his future at Tottenham Hotspur has not affected his early-season form.

The once-mercurial playmaker has appeared uninspired, at best, or simply not bothered, at worst, since revealing to the same Danish source that he wanted to explore a new challenge away from North London.

Eriksen did not get the move he wanted in the summer and has been one of the main antagonists of Tottenham’s descent into crisis this season, along with a group of other players who were expected to leave the club.

“Everyone is professional and in all clubs there is talk of players going away. That side of the matter has no bearing on how we have performed so far this season,” he told Ekstra Bladet, according to Sky Sports.

“If I, as a football player, took all the rumours to me, I would float on a cloud. But I know that it can’t all be true. It does not affect me what is written.”

The 27-year-old did admit to Ekstra Bladest that this is his “hardest time” at Spurs, with his output having dropped to four goals and seven assists in his last 30 matches, and only one apiece in 11 outings this campaign.

Never mind floating on clouds, Eriksen has his head in the clouds if he believes a word he is saying, at least about his own form.

This is just a PR exercise designed to protect his professionalism and try to shift the blame elsewhere. He doesn’t want to be here, and his performances show it.

My issue is that Poch doesn’t react.. Eriksen was poor since Jan yet gets to start in the final along with the continuing, declining Alli, but Moura is treated like a bag of bum hair and holes still to this day.. this Diamond isn’t working.. still persists.. drop Eriksen for a while.. this method of reinvigoration is not working for him or Alli.. and in the meantime the team plays with 10 or 9 men in real terms.. he hasn’t been backed for sure.. but giving someone like Davies a new contract shows our level tbh.. no pace, no skill, can’t cross.. his system relys on width that our full backs can’t effectively provide.. so many niggles add up to this current debacle..

Eriksen. When men have to step up he goes missing. Hes not the only one. The CL final of all games should inspire all professional football players to give it their all. Some didn’t. Poch knows this and now he has his hands tied. No backing when it mattered and now he is left with a bunch of players who are not committed to the cause anymore.

Eriksen, part of the spine of our team, is completely and utterly spineless…. We have relied on this guy for far too long..
