La Liga club has an agreement with Tottenham for €60M target; defender will mull over offer

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur wants to strengthen its backline this summer, and there are various names linked to the English club.

Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Tottenham could be ready to spend a decent amount of cash on Sevilla FC central defender Jules Koundé. The report states that Tottenham has agreed with Sevilla for the transfer of the 22-year-old.

Di Marzio adds The Premier League side has an offer of €30-million plus Davinson Sánchez on the table. However, before anyone jumps in celebration, there are a few words that Di Marzio throws in there stating that the player will think about the offer.

Now there’s plenty of speculation about what Koundé could be mulling over, and one is UEFA Champions League football. Sevilla finished in fourth place last season, so they’ll be in football’s top competition; meanwhile, Tottenham won’t be.

Koundé has a decision he could try his talents in the Premier League, or the France international might decide to wait to see if another club that will provide him with Champions League football and a higher profile comes in.

Yes but just like Aurier you know he will switch off and concede a goal or penalty.

He hasn’t progressed under Poch or Jose so he might do in a slower league.

Levy will see this as paying £70 million for Kounde so unlikely. He won’t want to lose money on Sanchez.

Actually Sanchez played well in the Copa America I could see him moving to la liga but Kounde looking for a CL team. We didn’t make the most of when we were regularly in CL

Can’t see this happening, who would want Sanchez after last season performance??

I’d be happy if we just sold the dross (about 11 usual suspects) bought 5 replacements and see where the season takes us.

We’ve regressed so much over the last 24 months. Maybe in this pandemic our greedy owners will not like their returns and bugger off…..we all have our dreams!!
