Justice Served As Gazzaniga Saves Deeney Penalty [Video]

By Joe Fish -

The handball rule is an absolute joke.

Such is the state of it that Tottenham could have few complaints about the penalty awarded against Jan Vertonghen at Watford this afternoon.

Despite the fact he was three yards away.

Despite the fact Gerard Deulofeu has smashed it at him.

Despite the fact that his arm is in a natural position when sliding on the floor. Where the hell else is he supposed to put it?

Thankfully, Paulo Gazzaniga made sure justice was done with this penalty save from Troy Deeney, two strong hands diving to his right.

It is a timely save from Gazzaniga with Hugo Lloris back in training.

And yet Poch got no credit for delivering CL 4 years on the trot without support. Oh , yeah he was a loser and it seems the serial winner will take us out of Europe the way we’re going. The same man who was very happy with the squad when he came in and negotiated a 2 mill bonus for delivering CL qualification next season.

We can’t keep pretending we have no money. I have posted this before, but it has been reported that about four games into the season Manchester City’s match day income was £150,000. Tottenham’s income was £850,000, and the facilities probably weren’t fully up to speed at that stage. I have heard since that the demand from fans is so big that Spurs have asked the NFL could they open up their entertainment suites to cope with the demands. The club is doing so well it can afford not to sell the stadium naming rights until it gets a mega offer. It is annoying when we act like some sort of poor relation.

Not up to me, but if Levy follows his usual recruitment policy we’ll still be thin in numbers and quality. We have seen better equipped teams than ours struggle in the Premier League when they’re involved in the Europa League. The last thing this team needs, a team which looks exhausted mentally and physically is an extra fourteen games. The addition of three or four new players is not going to change that as we will also lose players. Our number one aim has to be the Premier League and Champions League qualification, that’s where the big financial rewards lie. It’s Champions League football that elite footballers demand, not the Europa League. We have seen teams that have no European football have much improved Premier League performances. That’s just my opinion.

Gonna be a long, long, season. Dull, dreary football, exit FA Cup, exit Champions League, do we qualify for Europa League after exit from CL? Hope not.
