Journalist says Conte ‘is not renewing’ with Spurs, ‘can’t wait to return’ to former club

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte’s long-term future at the London club has been a constant topic of speculation.

The Italian has done well to galvanise Tottenham since his arrival and they have shown massive improvement in recent months.

However, there have been rumours that he might not be at the club for the long run and that could be a worry for the Premier League club.

There is no doubt that Conte is a world-class manager who has won trophies across multiple leagues. Spurs need to hold on to him if they want to establish themselves as an elite European team in the near future.

However, Conte has a tendency to move around frequently and journalist Paolo Bargiggia from Calciomercato and Sport Mediaset claims that the Italian is keen on a return to his former club Juventus and therefore, he will not renew his contract with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Italian’s contract with the Premier League club ends next summer and it remains to be seen whether Daniel Levy can convince him to commit his long-term future to the club before his deal expires.

Conte is still very much at the beginning of his project at Spurs and abandoning it midway would be quite surprising. An ambitious manager like him will want to win trophies with Tottenham before leaving the club.

Furthermore, Tottenham have backed him heavily during the summer transfer window and they clearly believe that he is the right man to lead them to the top. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Guardiola on Levy, “The master of the big negotiation, Daniel Levy, knows everything,”

Juventus are at the bottom of their qualifying group in the CL. Allegri is under a lot of pressure so I wouldn’t rule out Conte going before the end of his contract. This story has legs on it.

Actually Sonny, the poor man’s Salah, would be a perfect fit at Liverpool to replace Mane.

Don’t get me wrong I like Richy but was this deal promised at Levy’s dinner with Kenright to provide Everton with much needed cash?

Put me in the camp of hoping Conte bolts as it will put Levy in the crosshairs and maybe mark the end of 3+ years of dull football.

The Glazers have at least spent money trying to compete. A decent manager will get a tune out of a squad that is substantially stronger than ours. Despite this being an historically poor period in Manure’s PL history. Do one, ENIC leech.

Be interesting to see what Romano has to say on this.
For me the crunch came in the Summer when he decided not to move his family over so that ruled out long term.

These ‘fans’ that seem to demand blind faith, despite all the evidence to the contrary either are internet and social media influencers working for the club, or they’ve obviously got sh*t smeared all over their rose tinted specs.

One poxy League Cup back in 08, the only trophy we have seen in 23 years of ENIC. How can anybody be rational and expect anything but more of the same?

Many of us knew that Conte was going to be nothing more than a glorified caretaker manager. Levy will never change, ENIC will never change. These people need to wake up and smell the coffee, because I’m of the opinion that Conte already has. Perhaps he was never under any illusions and accepts the MO of ENIC, I suspect he does and takes a handsome wage to do his best. Until he gets a better offer.

Why am I not surprised by this rumour? As Brick Top mentioned below, Conte wanted Bastoni and Bremer as second choice and got Lenglet on loan. Mourinho wanted Skriniar or Ruben Dias and we had even agreed personal terms with the latter but Levy did his usual shenanigans and allowed City to swoop in and sign him, so he got Rodon instead. He did the same with Luis Diaz who joined Liverpool as Levy tried to get him cheaper at the last moment. The so called masterful revamp is a mirage as opposed the rose tinted optimism imbued by some fans that somehow Levy had changed his spots and had allowed professional football men the authority to conduct the club’s football matters. I take the view that Kane will go at the end of the season or completely run down his contract and God only knows what happens to Son. A fish rots from the head down and Levy is that fish. Enic are no better than the Glazers and until Enic sell up, I’m sorry to say that we will never be successful.

ENIC’s objectives remain the same. Build a property portfolio in N17, using other people’s money. Con the fans with faux ‘ambition’ to keep them turning up for their £200 days out…

It was never going to last. Conte came in as a highly paid ‘fixer’, with his relationship with Paraciti key to the arrangement, to get us back on track to the point we get back into the Champions League. Beyond that there is no objective…

Bastoni was clearly his top priority, probably Bremer as second choice. He ended up with Lenglet on loan. A temporary solution for what is most likely a temporary manager. I don’t think Conte and Levy are a good fit, but then again that could be said for most managers having to work under this treacherous excuse of a chairman.

Conte is a professional and he’ll do the best he can, but I seriously doubt he’s staying beyond this season. That might be a blessing in disguise. At the very least Levy will be under even more scrutiny. Supposedly we’re a big club, but ain’t acting like one. A big club would’ve signed Skriniar, Milenkovic-Savic and Kvaratskhelia plus Perisic on free for the alleged warchest as opposed to the mediocre players we ended up with. I’ve got nothing against Richarlison, but the Georgian kid is a far superior player for a fraction of the price. A wasted opportunity to get a much-needed flair player. Atletico are struggling so a big club would’ve gotten Carrasco fairly easily too.

That adds up, mainly because I don’t think Conte has been particularly overwhelmed with the summer transfer activity, and if the talk inside the club is that Kane is off then that will make his job even harder than it already is, working for Levy. Could be a good time to bail, I can’t see him renewing either…

Also, much as I rate Conte highly in many respects, surely a ‘World Class’ manager would do better in Europe?

Sounds like there is a concerted action to gang up on Spurs right now.

Claims that Potter wants to tap up Kane for Chelsea, now claims that Conte wants to be tapped up by Juventus. It’s par for the course media mischief. Will Liverpool be about to sign Son? How about Nice, PSG or Marseille tapping up Lloris? Do Bayern want Romero? How about Kulusevski to Real Madrid? Richarlison is off after the world cup and Bissouma will be tapped up by Chelsea. Ruben Amorim wants to take Dier back and Ben Davies can’t wait to leave after the world cup.

Did I tell you that I made all that lot up the past 5 minutes?

Gissa job at the Sun, the Mail, Sky Sports or the BBC!!!!!
