Journalist claims Spurs the ‘only team that can break the balance’ and sign €50m ace

By Saikat -

Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo continues to be linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Previously we have covered multiple reports stating that the Londoners are keen on signing the 23-year-old Italian midfielder and Roma are thought to be holding out for a fee of around €50 million.

Journalist Daniele Miceli from Sport Mediaset has now revealed that Tottenham are the only team that can afford to sign the talented young attacking midfielder this summer.

The player has been linked with Juventus in recent weeks as well but a summer move seems quite unlikely.

Spurs could definitely use a quality creator in the midfield but a move for Zaniolo might have to wait until the Londoners can offload some of their fringe players. The likes of Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele are reportedly surplus to requirements.

Furthermore, the report from Sport Mediaset claims that Zaniolo is not actively pursuing a move away from Roma and he is open to staying at the Italian club next season.

In addition to that, Roma could open contract talks with the midfielder in the coming months as well.

Miceli has been quoted by TuttoJuve saying, “Zaniolo seems to be oriented towards staying with Roma today, both his teammates and Mourinho have asked him. The only team that can break the balance is Tottenham, because they have the financial means to reach the 50 million euros requested by Roma. In September, margins could reopen to discuss the renewal of the contract.”

Depends where you are looking.

If you are looking at aggregator sites or Twitter pages, don’t be surprised to see quotes from a journalist who exclusively covers Spurs.

A very optimistic take on Skippy! He will captain England??? Look, I like the boy, the same as most of us, but compared to contemporaries like Foden, Mount, even Saka, plus youngsters coming through like Bellingham and Gallagher, I’m not sure that Skipp is in the same class to be honest with you. For those with long memories I see him more as a Stevie Perryman type player. A great club servant, but not quite international class. Mark Noble might be a latter day example.

You know you don’t have to read anything he writes, listen to his pod, or watch anything he puts on YT, right?

Why get triggered by content you have to actively seek out?
