Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly rejected a bid from Atletico Madrid for midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
According to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, Atletico Madrid made an offer close to €20 million for the Danish international, but Tottenham turned down the bid.
As a result, the potential transfer has hit a standstill for now.

Hojbjerg joined Tottenham in 2020 from Southampton and has since become one of the team’s most consistent and reliable players in midfield.
However, with new manager Ange Postecoglou at the helm, there are suggestions that Hojbjerg may not be in his plans for the upcoming season, which could lead Tottenham to consider selling the midfielder for the right price.
Parting ways with Hojbjerg would also free up significant wages, allowing Tottenham to reinvest in strengthening the squad as part of their ongoing summer rebuild.
The club has already made several signings, including James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario, and Manor Solomon, while securing permanent deals for Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro.
With a focus on strengthening the defense, Tottenham has been linked with various center-backs, including Micky van de Ven, Edmond Tapsoba, and Victor Nelsson.
The club is likely to continue its pursuit of defensive reinforcements as they prepare for the upcoming season under Postecoglou’s management.
Meanwhile, Giovani Lo Celso has left Postecoglou impressed with his pre-season performances and the Australian has convinced the Argentine to stay at Spurs despite him previously looking for a move away with Napoli interested.
Yves Bissouma also looks like his best version under Ange Postecoglou and the trio of Bissouma, Lo Celso and James Maddison could be one to watch next season.
