Hearing that Jose Mourinho's Spurs starting XI changes and bench today are going to make a real statement and it's likely to ruffle a few feathers. That's not really a bad thing after this week. Needs to win the game though for it to have the desired effect.

If true, there’s little surprise in the news that Mourinho has decided to shake things up at Hotspur Way, after all, he must be losing his mind trying to talk to some characters that stare back at him every day. Judging by Hugo Lloris’s post-match comments after the Europa League loss, some just can’t be reached.
I take a view that if this were to happen, then it will be hugely revealing to see who the Portuguese casts out and whom he brings in. Where would I put my money Eric Dier would be high on the list and either Gareth Bale or Dele Alli there or thereabouts.

Indeed!!. Play Scarlett instead!
Just looking at your list again, DB; it would be a pretty dire selection, would n’t it?
If Modders was pants in his first season I don’t remember that. What I do recall is him forming an effective partnership with Scotty Parker. Parker sitting allowing the last genuine creative midfielder we had in Modric weaving his magic producing sexy swagger football under Arry’s regime!
I take it, then, DD, that you don’t see Vinny as a future superstar? (the new Eder!!)
Always portraying a solemn look personally he looks out of his depth and best for him to be moved on!
I might still be inclined to give Doherty another season to confirm he’s crap; we might get a surprise. Lots of players have a bad debut season with a new club: have to form an understanding with other players, possibly get used to another playing system, settle down in the area etc, etc. Modric was pants in his first season, I seem to remember. He then has a brilliant season and he’s off!
Against Dinamo Zagreb unless I am mistaken and “switched off” I can’t recall any crosses whatsoever delivered either by Aurier or Davies into the box throughout the entire 90 mins??
Vincicus is no where near good enough. I agree not for me!
We’re still the class act when it comes to clowns around these parts! (I mean London because DD and myself are in the Birmingham commuter belt)
If he was recruited to score goals which he misses why select Bergwijn?? Ok the guy is a busy bee but sadly lets cut our losses and offload him in the summer together with the rest of the deadwood!!
Are we going to put our hands in our pockets and have a whip round and raise the money to buy Vinicius for 17 million? Real statement of intent if that rumour has any substance to it; come back, Postiga, all is forgiven!
Duly responded!
RT still treating our Anglo-Italian trophy and likewise winning a 5-A-Side tournament at the Wembley Arena as proper cups being a long suffering Spurs fan is a fair call. Would I have wanted it any different probably not!!
DD, two contributions from me lower down for you to peruse.
I don’t think Dier is one of the trouble makers; I think Jose likes his attitude.
I think perhaps I started following Spurs in earnest before you, I remember cutting a forlorn figure, going round the West Midlands in 64-65 watching them getting beaten by the region’s crappy football teams: 1-3 at Wolves; 0-1 at Birmingham; and 0-2 at West Brom (Wolves and Birmingham were relegated that season). I didn’t achieve a personal seasonal grand slam, as I missed the 1-0 reverse at Villa, mercifully. We got just the six points away that season.
I’m worried he picks the same starting XI as Thursday evening to let them prove they’re not completely sh*te. That would ruffle all of my feathers and turn my Insides to liquid!
Job done.
My money is on Winks, Sissoko, Ali, Dier and Aurier to be cut from the squad altogether with Tanganga to start at right full and Bergwijn to start as well as Lo Celso.
DD, my dear chap, still in the saddle, then; you haven’t decamped to Man City just yet, then! Did you see my response to your “Spurs fan since the cradle”? In case you didn’t, it was “Poor Sod”! Some really are just plagued with misfortune from birth.
That’s just not funny
Funny, how his career just fell apart.
It’s what Clowns do!, oh hang on 🤔
Wouldn’t it just! One source, incidentally, has suggested that we would be interested in BUYING Vinicius for 17 million pounds; with such ambition, we should be up there challenging next season. I haven’t actually taken leave of my senses (though too much exposure to the weird and not so wonderful world of Spurs is a definite danger to one’s sanity); I am, of course practising the lowest form of wit.
No matter what you do as a career if you want success the most important thing is you must “want to do it”, that has been our problem, Dier, Dele and Winks are the biggest troublemakers, ask Harry Kane.
Toby and Rodon for me!
You forgot to swap Hugo for Hart
There influential Norwegian loan signing looks good and Chambers puts ineffective Doherty to shame!!
Hugo, Sanchez with Toby looks ok with reggie on the left would love tanganga on the right doubt it though. Hojbjerg ndombele moura bale kane lo celso.
Yep against an Arsenal side who showed plenty of spirit, pride and passion clearly lacking in our performances of late!!
Hugo, Doherty,Dier,Sanchez,Davies, winks, Sissoko, bergwijn, bale, dele, Vinicius starting 11 today 🙄
That would ruffle some feathers, the fans would go into melt down
Put on people who are willing to run and fight for the team, if we have 11 of them. Use the end of the season to show who’s got a future here and who doesn’t. Give the fans something to cheer about.
Maybe if we leave out the bad eggs, some cohesion and togetherness can be achieved and then used as a springboard for next season.
Can’t understand how Arsenal are still below even if they’d won, and Villa. Someone do a point recount??
Not Spurs related but West Ham blowing a 3 goal lead is comedy gold
Great.
No prisoners anymore. Demote the shysters. Mag to grid get rid.
heres hoping we can win a game football ! That’s it just win a game of football .
11 players out performing the other team and the coach of that team setting out tactics to deploy (through his players) to get the best result possible .
showing a return on the millions invested in the group.
have a good Sunday all . Coys
Return of the Rose??
That’ll be more like plucking feathers🙃
Bale, Dele, Sissoko & Dier to be put out to pasture imo
