José Talks About Troy Parrott Like He’s Seriously Damaged Goods [video]

By The Boy -
via ytCropper

Extraordinary stuff from José Mourinho this afternoon in his post Wolves presser. Extraordinary. If you want to contest this assertion, then imagine being at your own child’s parent’s evening and hearing these words about your kid from their PE teacher. You;d be horrified!

“He is not ready, not ready. He is a kid who needs help off the pitch as well as on the pitch.”

Spurs, a side with no designated striker drop to 8th spot, and the coach feels that the only possible squad alternative is a person that needs “help” off as well as on the pitch?

No way of dressing this up.

Well once he’s had a few 20 minute sessions, we’ll know for sure.

Didn’t I say beggars cannot be choosers? And I am not salivating over anyone. What I am saying is that unless he’s tried out on the big stage you’re never going to know. It’s not rocket science!! If he’s no good, it will quickly be displayed for all to see, alternatively, if he finds the back of the net, then he will have achieved far more the Lucas and Alli, who run around a lot and achieve very little!!

None of my business who he hangs about with. And what are you inferring anyway about this “drug dealer’s son,” that he has been injecting heroin into Parrot or forcing him to carry class As though Stansted?

No my concern is purely that my football team has lost every game since son was injured. Mourinho’s spurs are not peak era Spain or Barca in being able to excel without a specialist striker.

The drinkers don’t count 😆 we english love a drink. Greavesy gazza 🧨…… If troy was anywhere near them or georgie best calibre then he’d be playing for sure.

Had the resources at Utd, said he was attracted to the Spurs squad. Response after yesterday’s loss at home:” we deserved to win.”

I would suggest Poch did pretty well with young players and other players whose careers had stalled. The team Poch last managed had Kane and Son playing up front. Which one would you have dropped for Parrott?

If he is obviously doing things which reflect badly on the club WHY PUT HIM ON THE BENCH?

Why put him on the bench? Why publically comment on other issues. This is Jose dealing with young players… De Bruyene, Salah Pogba Martial. I understand that there are disaffected players in every squad but this approach does not augur well for the future.

And with it looking increasingly likely not having CL football we will attract mercenaries and a re-union featuring Smalling and Willian to help the recently re-signed Toby and Jan still in his plans

Poch didn’t throw kids under the bus like this. Work through the issues in private. This is Jose in self-preservation mode. Spend time on team tactics and setting up how to defend a lead.

He was only on the bench because everybody else was injured not through merit. Had lamela been fit he was never on the bench. How many minutes did he get under poch who was supposed to be so good with youth. Why are you salivating over someone that has shown nothing to two managers to suggest he deserves his big chance. Why is he gagged. What does the club know we are not being told. Let him prove himself in the under 21 for a while first. We are never going to get top four this season anyway under poch or jose.

and poch went to the other extreme by labelling edwards as the next messi….id say mourinhos comment about parrot is probabley a lot nearer to the truth than pochs comment about edwards was.

He was on the bench and played for 4 p**y minutes TODAY!! His private life was not an issue for that. You’re putting up obstacles that are not there. From where I am sitting the only obstacles are Mourinho’s team selection politics.

I will therefore repeat – give the lad three or four 20 minute sessions to see how he fares. If he’s not ready, as Mourinho states, then it will show on the pitch – nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Not what I’m saying I’m not on about how good a footballer he is or not my point is does he go to training. Why was he pictured with the guy on the boat and why have spurs slapped a gag on him in public. The guy must have real issues that he must sort out first before he has a right to play for spurs. Clean them up then we can look at the player not before.

Well after he’s played two or three 20 minute sessions then you’ll know how good or bad he is. Until he has, you’re not going to know are you? Let’s face it, he cannot be worse than Moura or Alli.

Why put parrott on what has he done to deserve a place. Dele has been poor for some time I will grant you that but I don’t get this parrott thing at all. He has shown nothing to convince poch or Jose he deserves his chance. Hanging around with if he was a drug dealers son is not a good image for him or the club. So like I said clean himself up sort himself out train hard then yes but until then no way does he deserve a chance. Stuff CL and europa league rather finish 10th with players who try and train than boys who think signing a contract is a right. Sends the wrong signals.

After that disallowed goal I think the match fixers reside elsewhere.

Beggars can’t be choosers. Mourinho has nothing to lose by playing him for twenty minutes. In fact when flapper Alli fluffed that sitter he should have been off and Parrot on.

Does he even deserve that much time. Jose is stating the guy has problems the question is for me is parrott listening or does he think he has a god given right. The guy is 18 has done little or nothing to suggest he is any good but because Levy won’t spend the money we are stuck with him. To say play him really smacks of desperation to see if he is any good despite he is this or that. Let him earn his place first stuff CL and europa league.

Unless he’s played you’re not gonna find out are you? If he fails then fair enough – give him more time, but to put the lad on for 4 mins of injury time is just taking the p**s.

So did Georgie Best and Gazza, but what players when they were in their prime!!

So the story about him hanging around with a drug dealers son you are happy with. Remember players are spurs on and off the pitch. Does he train hard like winks, Sissoko, son and tangana. I still do not see your statement as a reason to play him. Sort out both and yes he can play week in week out if he is good enough??

Nothing like helping someone by publicly outing them! Jose is the problem here. I want to give him time but every game that passes we look worse, the basics are still rubbish and Jose simply looks devoid of ideas. I hope I am wrong, but I bet we struggle to the summer, spend more than Poch ever got and still don’t get better… Where as had Poch just been given the backing!

Very different coaches, with very different attitudes. Ours has been publicly wishing it was July 1st already.

Does he deserve to play. What does it say to other youth players and if the man says he is not ready why is everyone crying out for him. What does that do to Jose cred as the boss. Like Jose, don’t like Jose well it’s his job to manage the best of a bad bunch. Let him manage and judge him a year from now not after a few games. As for parrott I’m against playing him don’t think he has done enough to warrant a run. Just because we are in a pickle is no reason to play the kid.

There are no meaningless games. It’s that attitude that sets winners from perennial losers …. City and Liverpool don’t think of any game as meaningless.

When City won the league with games to go Pep told the players to go get the highest points record.

Yet he was on the bench and subsequently came on…the football side of ENIC is a shambles..get lucky or get 8th..

Just the same old public humiliation he used to dish out to selected players at Man U. The only way to truly establish whether Parrot is ready is to play him in some of the many meaningless games that are now looming up to the end of the season.
